hi keke, don't worry about it. if everything goes well, i believe your star rating will increase rapidly. i see you get whatever you need from the former responses. i just want to add somethings: 1. your star rating show how the other users think about you. if they like you and/or your posts, they will rate it positive and it will positively affect your star rating. the more other users rate you +, the faster your rating will increase. i think the best ways to get the rate + is posting quality post always and be nice to other users. i guess the two simple tricks is easy for you to do, right? 2. there is sometimes a 'rating crisis' here, where everybody's rating fall down rapidly without logical reasons. that's ok. that will pass after a couple days. 3. if you want to get more responses to your quality discussion, don't forget to post it in the right time, where most mylotters are online. a friends said that it's about 3 - 5 pm. but it's a little bit bewildering as we live around the world which have different time zones. 4. good luck!

Hi there, Even one year after Mylot introduced the Star rating, I do not understand the value of the system. Many of the veterans, who really write well etc have low star ratings. And people who have nothing really to contribute to discussions and have bad prose and content have high ratings. It looks like there are some people who go around giving negative ratings to people who they do not agree with. This seems to happen mostly in threads where any aspect of Islam is discussed. It has come to a stage, where there are a group of people who specifically request readers to rate them negatively. On the positive side, there are many people who post regularly, have high thread count and who are rated well. I guess that is what you want to aspire to.

hi,kekexinfeng, you are doing a great job! the initial reputation would be increased greatly if you could keep active in mylot and keep posting some high quality disccusions and responses. so, just take it easy! don't concern too much on the initial reputation. That's what any newbie must go through. There's not a certain rule to increase reputation. From my own experiences, i think you can check the following three points: 1.just stick to mylot, and keep posting. 2.Also pay attention to the post quality. I mean, try to post a long discusssion or repsonse as descriptive as you can. remember to add tags for your discussion or response. 3.Make more friends, and then you might get more rate + which is thought to be helpful to the reputation. I am sure your reputation will increase greatly soon if you really love mylot! Good luck to you!

you mean the star rating!! as you grow it will improve. but there is a glitch. all of us start with seven and if we are rated negatively on any of our discussions we get lower stars as punishment. do not worry post good discussions and respond nicely!! you will also gradually get the top stars soon!! good luck!!
