i understand but there are a lot of people that do give cash i even have given cash.but i try to be cautious but sometimes there are time when a homeless crook get through and try to cheat someone.there really are some homeless people that really needs help out there when they do this it makes it hard to really help thoses that need it.

I dont give at all. This issue has become very popular in Philippine streets. There are syndicates behind these beggars in the street. Some are children, old, babies, etc. They have a lot of gimmick.
At first, you will pity them but later on you will hate seeing them. Its better to give the money to the real needy. After all the money which you will give to these beggars are not for them but for their bosses.

Unfortunately that is the sad truth in our country. Some people make this a business. There was once an incident in Muntinlupa (city in Philippines) wherein the van stopped and police saw kids came out bringing flowers to sell to street passers. Luckily, police was there so they were caught. Kids were brought to Kids Welfare Center.

I have got where I pay no attention to them for if they wuill work for food they wil go find some kind of job.
It is a scam on the most part even have seen them work in shifts. The money gave to them is free of taxes and they can live very well on it . That makes me think that they are taking me for my hard earned money!

Me and hubby watched them work a rest area here one year! and they tried to hit on us 2 times for we spent the night.
and one came up to the other to let them know they had hit us and then drove away on a beautiful motorcycle with the money these others had collected . then he cam back and the others left thats why I know they work in shifts and even use kids

How could I not help if they deserve. Certainly giving to the needy is not an issue to me. I can always give for as long as they are not cheating me. The problem here in our country, the beggars are sometimes part of a syndicate to fool people. So it is very hard to give to the beggars on the street, it is like tolerating the syndicate when you give.

My husband and I do not give out money. We do, however, carry small bags of non-perishable food items and water in out vehicle. We even have food for those people with pets. When we see them on the road we most certainly hand them a bag. My husband was on a dark and treacherous path in his younger days. He has been on the other side of the car window and knows how these people feel. I, on the other hand, have known many police officers who have told me stories about picking those folks up and putting them in jail for 24 hours. You would not believe some of the numbers my friends have given me concerning money found on them when they are arrested. So we hand out food and cards with the phone number to various charitable organizations in our area. I'd love to see them hired on to do the jobs migrant workers do. That would totally be something they could do and earn a little money at the same time. Hand-up not a hand-out.

i think they work in shifts and most of them do have more money then you do i have offer to buy food and they say no they need the money so i don,t give them the money because if you are hungry you will be glad to eat the food thats offered.some say they will work for food if they will work for food we have day work here, but they be standing in the middle of the road where traffic is heavy asking for money stopping traffic.some will try to jack you if they can.

I never have money myself, I walk because I cannot afford the bus and I only go where I have to go and I do not spend money on anything when I am out not even a cup of coffee, I just don't have the money.
when I did yes I did give to the poor on the street, but not everyone, you just can't here in montreal I could be hit by 10 different people just going from one corner of the street to the next.
