I'm always right!

Don't you hate these words? The repetitive "No" "My point the the right one" especially this one: "You know nothing". Even they were right, they won't listen to your opinion or even won't let you talk. All they want to do is to satisfy their ego.
It is really hard to live with people who think that they are all-knowing. I do acknowledge that I was kinda one of them. Without thinking I used to say no and choose the opposite side of the conversation, however ridiculous it was, just to stand out. That was partially ok because I was a teenager back then (14).
After that, my head had soften up and I did realize what I was doing and step by step I fixed myself. Nowadays I listen to other opinions and ponder it a bit. If they are that type of hard headed people, I would just say "maybe" or "it's a point".
So, what are your ways for dealing with such people? Is there are many people you know who are like that? Are that type of people?
