Marriage Or Not?

I have been with the same man for almost 11 years now, we have 2 children together and he also helps raise and is daddy to my other two children. We have talked about getting married but I feel its only a piece of paper. I feel as though I am married to him as he is my one and only and I don't ever see myself being with anyone else but he would like to see the marraige part. What do you all think is marriage that important or is it just about being together and giving that person all of your love no matter if you have the paper or not? I'd love to hear what you all have to say about this.
