Relationship between sister in law and mother in law

Hi, Everything is good till a son gets married.Why do things change suddenly after mariage.In most of the cases there arise differences between sister and mother in laws.Why does this happen? is it so difficult for the wife to accept husband's mom, and for the mom to accept son's wife? what goes wrong?son gets confused as both are important people in life? how to solve this problem?

Well, I can't really speak for the majority. My in-laws, quite frankly, are terrible people. They're self-centered, self-serving, manipulative and egotistical. I can't stand the way they think, the way the act and they way the treat my husband or myself. Most especially his mother. I haven't seen any of them for over 2 years and I hope to keep it that way.
