We all ride on our own local public vehicle, like bus, train, etc, and here in the Philippines Jeep or dyipni is our main tranfortation. We can't help but sometimes hear people having conversation on different things, about friends, work and other peoples lives. I admit sometimes i listen because i get bore specially when im alone and i have to travel a long trip. But i don't really get myself into it i just listen as a form of entertainment.

if they r loud enough, i end up listening to what they r saying. probably because i cant concentrate on anything else, reading or thinking about something else. my thoughts have been interrupted by their voices. so, why not?

I don't listen on purpose. But it is impossible not to overhear some conversations. I just usually try to tune them out. I have listened to children talking sometimes. They have the funniest conversations sometimes (while their parents are talking about something else), and those I sometimes smile and listen to.

yes, not intentionally but whenever someone is talking on the phone with someone and is talking very loudly, i can't help it cause i get irritated with what they are talking about, for me not to hear this, i would just open up my player and that's it. :)

I dont actually listen to other peoples discussion. I find it disturbing too when people are talking while inside a public utility vehicle. I think it is not appropriate to talk about personal life and problems in public. I think it is better if they talk about personal stuff privately.

I listen in if it catches my attention. If it's something interesting I may even lean over to hear a little better. If what they're talking about doesn't hold my interest I stop listening. But really I think that even though it's unethical everyone probably does. Besides, if the people talking didn't want anyone to hear then they would talk somewhere else or in very quiet voices so nobody would hear them.

i don't go out of my way to listen, in fact i don't even like speaker phones for that reason, sometimes people forget there are others around them, or that they are out in the street and talk on cells like they were the only ones there, so you can't help but listen.

I don't usually listen to other people's conversations because it's unethical but if you are in a public transportation you don't have much choice, it's not that you are actually listening to them but you are forced to cuz almost always public transport are usually silent, in terms of people talking, only the ones with companies are the ones who are talking but most of the passengers are alone and no one to talk to.

Sometimes I just can't help it. Some people really talk very loud, so it's like they couldn't care who heard them.
At other times, I would just listen with half a ear (or mind); if it's interesting, I would pay more attention!

I usually don't but when two people are talking beside me so loud, I can't help it. MEH!
It's really disturbing to know that people could easily overhear your conversations. Last year, on our way from school, this girl was trying to flirt with a boy, and they're from our school. I felt sorry for the girl because she was such a BAD flirt! Okay, I know it's none of our business, but when she went down, I found out that I wasn't the only one listening to them. A lot of the other people in the bus snickered at her.

I seldom use public transportation but I do use the MRT during those times that I really have to. I don't usually listen to other people's conversation since my mind is always full of plans and things to do after getting out of the MRT, yes, I'm always on the rush. But I don't deny the fact that we cannot avoid to listen too since there are those people who talk so loud like they're using a megaphone and they want to announce to the world their topic. I found myself hearing (whether I like or not) funny conversations and I sometimes smile. However, I don't really get a hang of each word spoken, as always, I'm busy with my own thoughts.

I usually don't listen to other people's conversations because it's unethical but if it would affect my life and my work then I would. Sometimes when you're in a public transportation you can't help but to listen cuz you don't have any other choice especially if these people talking are the only ones who are making such conversations. Cuz generally, when you ride a public transportation, people are almost always strangers to each other. And those with companies are the only ones talking.
