Hi Aps.......I like to participate in all festivals. The ambience ,the joy,the sharing and last but not least the "special delicacies/feasts" that are part and parcel of any festival in our country is a real treat indeed......I Like Navaratri festival the most because it lasts the longest.....For all the nine days, the ladies in our community join together and offer prayers and bhajans to the lord and also give beetle leafs and other items to each other and distribute sweets and other items among each other.I also love fesitvals because they help to strength the bond of love and friendship and help to break religious barriers, and creates a feeling of onness irrespective of cast and creed......

Diwali is the time to celebrate. It is time to share some gifts, to enjoy some sweets. Get rid of junk. It is time to re-polish and re-do your house and time for cleaning and doing such things. Diwali is the most imporatnt of festivals which everyone celebrates with pomp, joy and gaity, so do we.

I am a Catholic married to a Hindu. So we celebrate both Diwali and Christmas at home. I like both the festivals as long as the family and friends can get together and celebrate in peace and harmony. Actually in this busy world the festival season is the only time we get together..

I used to enjoy what is called, Harvets Homecoming. We used to go to it every year when my dad was living. It hasn't been the same since and we live miles from it now.

This is my favorite time of yer. The next 4 months are so full of joy and happiness. I love them all, starting with the fall fairs that we have in this area. The weather is perfect, cool and crisp, perfect sweater weather. The leaves change and everything is so beautiful. The fairs are perfect for getting in the Holiday mood for the upcoming Holidays.
Halloween is fun because it is completely for the kids! They have so much fun dressing up. Lots of smiles for sure!
Thanksgiving is one of my favorites. I love making the meal and the smell of it cooking waking up the rest of the house. It is wonderful to take the time to be Thankful for what we have and to reflect on the good times in our lives.
Of course Christmas is my all time favorite. And not because there are gifts involved either. In fact I wouldn't mind if there were no gifts as long as I could still have the lights, the music, the good company of family and friends. Here it hopefully turns into a winter wonderland that sets such a pretty back drop for the lights and decorations.
And last but not least New Years Eve/Day. A new begining for everyone. Time to take a good look a our lives and make the changes we have been hoping for in ourselves.
Absolutely the best time of year!
