Ferret as a pet

A friend told me that a ferret sleeps 14 - 18 hours a day and I was curios. I searched the internet and indeed, it sleeps most of the time and then I became interested about having ferret as a pet. What do you think? Are ferrets good pets? For those who have ferrets as a pet can you share some of your experiences. Or even those who have just experience something with a ferret.

Wow! That is a long time for them to sleep! I always thought they would be such a cute pet to have, however I also read that they can get into tiny crawl spaces and into insulation, etc. Then I saw them in the pet store and they stink pretty badly. And I know that they go to the bathroom a lot! I don't know. I would like to hear from ferret owners and see what they have to say. Thanks and have a great day! Happy myLotting!!!
