I believe one person's hell may be another person's heaven. For instance, I HATE loud music blaring all the time - that would be hell for me. Obviously a lot of people would really love that. Personally, I don't believe there's a 'hell' as such. If God loves all his people, he wouldn't want any of them to be in hell.

I agree, owlwings. The stylised perception of 'hell' is at the other end of the 'reward system' of a presumed heaven. If religion is a crutch which helps people get through their days and justify their misdemeanors by doing penance for them (and, I may add, going out and cheerfully transgressing again because they know they can confess on Sunday), hell is a suitable threat to keep the gullible on the straight and narrow.

Without hell no one would worry too much about going to heaven. They would simply enjoy their selves right here on earth. But think of it this way, the Churches wouldn't have anything to sell and all the salesmen would have to find a different product to sell.

Dear ramangill i have seen in many of your post, you talk about religion, if you are searching for truth then there is noting good then this but if you are doing this to just making posts i don't think this is good idea!!

as far your question of this topic what is hell,
according to MUSLIM hell is the place where people will go who done bad deeds in the life in world! no one can save any one from going to hell but the man himself, only good deed can take hell away from you! and Muhammad(PBUH) also can't take us to hell, but we can go to heaven and leave hell by obeying the path shown by our be love prophet Muhammad(PBUH),
(now please don't make fun if ISLAM)

believing in Jesus = going to heaven? i don't think so, if a person that is bad, he/she will go to hell, that's for sure. it is not like everyone in the world had a chance to know jesus. is it really fair to them? i think god judge each person accordingly, based on how much good the person had done. not just whether he/she believing.

hell. wow, thats a great place to be in. i feel there must be lots of interesting things in hell. otherwise why many people take a to those deeds which is a sure passport to hell. there must be something in it. as far as heaven is concerned, the descriptions from scriptures portray it to be a boring place. there seems to be nothing happening there. just praying, worshipping and that all or prepareing to fight the satan. about hell satan never spoke anything anywhere. he seems to be happy with those who joined him. and those who went to hell also not complaining.
