hahaha!!! This is un excusable situation. I do mylotting while baking cookies. When my oven timer buzz, I quickly check it but my cookies are not yet cooked, so I decided to just leave it there for another 3 minutes but did not set the timer. I went back to my computer and was engross responding. I totally forgot my cookies.. hahaha it takes a long time when I remembered it, and when I went back and check it, guess what? my cookies are burned. My goodness!! I quickly put it in the trash before anybody could see it. hahaha!!! funny but embarrassing. My hubby would complain sometimes why my cookies are over brown. I often over cooked my cookies because of being in the computer while baking.
Did it happen to you too? It is not new to me. But now I make it a point that I would use the timer all the time so that I will not waste my ingredients. Like now? I am baking while mylotting.. hahaha it's fun!!!!
Just curious to hear your story too.

I have burned meatballs and hamburgers that I am cooking while I have been myLotting. Pretty much the same scenario as you. I go check on the food and it has maybe another 5 minutes to go. So I decide I can go and read a discussion and respond to it or else write up a new one really quick. And then you guessed it, I come into the kitchen and find that the meatballs are all black on one side or the hamburgers are singed on the grill outside.
It's my own fault too. Because I get so drawn into the different discussions on here that I totally lose track of time.
Oh well, have a great day and happy myLotting!!!
P.S. Good luck with the rest of your batch of cookies!!

Hi Bebs,
Ohh..hahaha....Same here last time, but I was just using microwave to heat some pasta and instead of setting 2.5 minutes, without checking the numbers appeared, it was 25 minutes! I was ironing also and was enjoying what am I doing when hubby was running to the kitchen because it smells so bad already and I didn't smell it!
Good thing he was able to notice and rescue it or else....hmm..maybe a fire or whatever! lOL!
After that, i tried not to do things simultaneously especially if it requires me to be in a different place in the house..hahahha..careless in short!

Hi Che, you are not careless, you are just very industrious that you want to do multi tasking.. hahahaha.. that happens to me many times. I want to accomplish things all at the same time and end up neglecting the other one. hehehe much more when I am online. I always do other things like, baking, washing and the like while I am online. And I usually forget it like my cookies that burned.

LOL!
That is funny! I actually had the same thing happen to me, but it wasn't cookies, it was FISH STICKS!
I set my timer as well... my timer went off, I heard it, but thought - "Let me give it an extra 5 mins, it won't hurt."
But during that time, I had forgot all over again because I never set the timer for 5 mins... && well, when I finally remembered, they were BLACK! I had to start all over...
I was also mylotting during the time my fish sticks burned! LOL!

Well I haven't burned cookies while Mylotting, but I was toasting bread the other day for a sandwhich and I almost burned my bread, I came back to the computer, and almost completely forgot about my bread. I smelled it, and ran in the kitchen and it was starting to get smokey..lol. My bread wasn't burnt yet, but it sure was getting brown.

I don't really do a lot of baking, but I do tend to go on the computer when I am cooking something. Sometimes I want the time to be longer, so I can go on for a longer time. Then I run to the food, get it out, and run back to the computer to eat it. I'm addicted!

Now what are you going to snack on while mylotting? You've done it now! Hope the next baking turns out ok. Wouldn't want you to starve while mylotting! LOL
It's great to see others act like me!

hahaha I just eat chips now while mylotting and I have orange juice with it. My hubby is the one fond of eating cookies. He will complain when I can't bake every week for his cookies. He always have that for lunch as his desert. Good that some of it turns out to be good.

I could seriously see where this would happen, and it would be embarrasing for sure. I know that when myLotting unless you make yourself go do something, or set a timer like you said as a reminder, it is easy to burn cookies, or forget about what you really need to be doing and then hit yourself later for screwing up. I often find myself loosing track of time here, and maybe I need to find ways to be better prepared as well.

Usually I am on the phone or run to put a load of wash in or something and forget about them as well and then they end up going to the composte . This is the reason I don't like to bake lol . You spend all your time making something good and then you don't even get to taste them because you have to throw them away becuase you get engrossed in something else and forget :)

Hello Bebs08,
Ha Ha, I fully understand you because it happened to me last night, I was cooking chops and by the time I rembered it was still in the oven, it was over cooked because I was Mylotting and my hubby said these chops are a bit, I then told him they are a bit small and ateend to be like that anyway, he fell for it and said he won't be buying any more of them. He he he.

I dont have experience like yours.. I have an experience like biking while texting, in that manner makes me crashed to my bike into the high way,and my cell phone fell down near to the drainage and i thank that i dont have a wound in my bicycle crash and i thank that when i picked up my cell phone from high way, it still working.. And that experience makes me a lesson that if you driving with some vehicles, concentrate driving and dont do another things. Just concentrate for your safetyness.... Thats my one of my many experiences.. Thank You...

Oh!! that's another thing. That is more dangerous than mylotting. Because here in mylot you would not get crash or hit by vehicle while doing your thing. The only risk her is when the house will be burned.. hhaha at least you can still run for your life and will not get killed.

Ha!ha!ha! Now it's your turn to burn what your cooking Oh Bebs, that could happen really if you are log in while cooking. Ha!ha!ha! Look at me... I'm no log in but still burning my rice, ha!ha!ha! How much more if I log in, I'd probably burn the whole house! So I don't touch the computer when at home as I told you. I don't want the entire house to turn to ashes! Wasted cooking on your side while mine is wasted rice. Oh what a waste. Who would want to eat burnt foods anyway so better just throw away! Look what myLot can do! Ha!ha!ha! Next time don't forget to turn on the timer, ok! Don't be like me!

Hi! I did once burned my doggies food because I was busy mylotting haha! I was trying to broil some meat for my pets. I let it simmer but didn't know that there was no water anymore. I totally forgot about it and only remembered when I came across a discussion about cooking. I also threw the meat because it was not good for eating anymore. It got stuck on the pan and was totally charred.
Mylot is really addictive. It can make me forget about everything else while I'm here. But I try not to forget about important things and before I mylot, I would try to finish everything else first. So nothing will disturb me and make me get off the computer.
Ciao!
