Favorite Placebo Video

In my case it's a tie between "Special Needs" and "Twenty Years". Both videos match the songs perfectly and are so simply yet beautifully done that I can't choose between them. When I think of "Special Needs", the first thing that comes into my head is the dreamy and ghostly atmosphere of the video. Those shades of blue make it seem cold, sad, reminiscent, and yet warm and peaceful. Just like memories are... And as Brian Molko himself said in a commentary from the "Once More With Feeling" DVD, the song is about memories, about making love to a memory, about being unable to escape your past emotions. I think the video captured that idea perfectly, both through those haunting shades of blue and through the scenes with the boy and the girl. It's impossible to explain just how much this video makes me feel. It offers me an amazing mixture of emotions every single time I watch it. As for "Twenty Years"... I can't put my finger on an exact reason, I simply fell in love with its dark atmosphere from the first time I saw it. It gave me the impression of time standing still in an endless, bittersweet anticipation of our future. Placebo chose a very poetic illustration of the song in this case, and that's what makes it so beautiful. Oh, about "Pure Morning", it was my first Placebo video also. I too am very fond of it. (^_^) But if I were to choose a third place, I'd pick "Song To Say Goodbye".
