I think a good gift to give is either diapers or else a gift card to Walmart or Target. That way when the baby shows up she can buy what she really needs, like diapers, or formula or whatever else she might need. Trust me, I have 4 children. She would appreciate a gift card I am sure of it. There is always something that you need that no one gave you at the baby shower.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Whether it is a girl or a boy, the baby will still need diapers, wipes, and things like that. Clothes are always cute and usually you can find something that would look cute on a baby boy or baby girl. Has your friend registered anywhere? Good luck and congratulations for your friend!

*As new mommies like to take pictures of the newborns and family stuff, you could give a digital picture frame.
*You could buy or make a personalized picture frame with the babies name and birthdate on it.
*You could give a subscription to Parents Magagzine.
*You could buy or make a keepsake basket for mommy to store keepsakes of the baby in.
*You could buy or make a personalized blanket with babies name and birthdate on it.
I prefer to give gifts that the kid won't outgrow in a couple of weeks or months or gifts that they will get a gazillion of unless the family really needs the basics like diapers and clothes etc.

My cousin gave birth a few months ago and made me a godfather of her son. I bought her a stylish baby bag. Not only is it a really useful and spacious bag to put baby things in, it looks really nice and stylish and doesn't even look like a baby bag. So if your friend is a stylish woman, you can try getting her a stylish baby bag and maybe even load up the bag with some baby stuff like bottles and diapers.

Instead of offering to babysit, I would offer to do something for your friend. Like bring her dinner or something. She'll get plenty of offers to babysit, but help for her will be very welcome.

How about a gift card at a baby store so they can buy what they really could use.

Hi! I just had a friend who gave birth and she loved my gift. It is a baby carrier. She just straps it around her body so that she can carry her baby everywhere with ease. This is best when she wants to go shopping and she doesn't have anyone to leave her baby to. She has a very active lifestyle and since this is her first baby, she would definitely want to have her baby around her as much as possible.

It would really depend on how close I was to the friend. Myu cousins wife is having a baby and I sent her a little outfit. Someone like my sister I might soemthing else to. It would really depend on how much I could spend or what i could offer. You could also offer to babysit. I bet she woul like that alot.

I guess it depends on how close you are to the person but there are a couple of gifts that you cannot go wrong with for a new baby.
1- take a small garbage can or a diaper pail and fill it with lotions, shampoo, powder, bath soap, diaper rash ointments and any other small item you can think of. This works really well if you have a lot of notice and you can pick up 2 or 3 items each time you're out.
2- Diapers. You just cant get too many. You can go online for the instructions on making a diaper cake. It is really cute. You can make it as big or small as you want and you just roll the diapers up and shape them into a cake. It's really cute.
Good Luck!
