Cosmetic Surgery

I never believed in cosmetic surgery. I've watched my sister go through procedure after procedure and always thought it was needless and vain, but I'm starting to feel differently. After having an 11 pound baby my body does not look the same the flesh just hangs around my abs. I feel like the flesh isn't me, and I want it removed so that I can see what I really look like underneath. How do you feel about cosmetic surgery?

I don't think there is anything wrong with it, especially if it is in a case where something has been changed about a person's body without any fault on their part. Having a baby does change a woman's body, and I see nothing wrong with getting cosmetic surgery. Same thing with someone who has a big nose that gets them teased, or something else like that. The only time I think it is a bad idea is if someone has had so many procedures they start to look fake, or if it is someone very young, say a teenager who just wants bigger breats and their parents are willing to pay for it.

Thanks I really appreciate your support. I agree about too much plastic surgery being a bad idea. I imagine it can't be healthy either. Happy Mylotting.

there might be some people thinking that they shouldnt go to surgery.. there are many risks involved yes.. that is if you're not going to a professional and doctors who are qualified to do the procedures. and for the price that comes with it, hehe it cant be denied that its indeed expensive. majority of those who go through procedures are those who can afford and if u can then i guess that would be good. being pretty and looking good certainly helps boosts our self esteem.. improves self confidence. :) but there are cheap ways to improve how u look like eating right foods, right diet, exercise, right sleep and the likes....and all this of course requires HARD WORK, PATIENCE, DISCIPLINE, DETERMINATION.. this makes surgery a a shortcut and a likable option. :) if u dont want to go through the second option, and the long wait, then i guess surgery sounds good to u :) just be careful though. check thoroughly the doctors first. :) and follow their advices goodluck and take care

I'm not sure what type of diet or exercise gets rid of excess skin but it seems like weight watchers and atkins didn't work. Now I'm trying a whole foods diet, with no success either. Also I've been alternating working out 4 times a week at the gym and taking walks everyday with my son... so Hard Work, Patience, Discipline, and Determination, I've got those. Now all I need is how to apply them because so far noting takes off this saggy skin.

it depends on how badly you need it. if you cant get rid of the flab by just exercising and dieting, then go for it. i think for me, cosmetic surgery is the last alternative method when all else fails. why not? what do have to lose?

How long do you think a person should exercise and diet before turning to cosmetic surgery?

Wow, an 11 pound baby, I bet that was an experience. I totally understand your reasons for wanting such a procedure but is there another way of regaining what you lost? Can you get your past body back through diet and/or exercise? I'm not completely against cosmetic surgery but as with any surgery there is a risk and if you can accomplish your goals through other methods you might consider them. Like I said, I'm not totally against cosmetic surgery and if that is the only way to regain the body you once had, I wish you all of the luck in the world. Hugs, Tianna

I seems like it might be my only option. I weigh less now then before my sons birth but I wear larger jeans to contain the flesh. I've exercised and dieted, I've used creams, and nothing :(

I am one too that thought cosmetic surgery was a sign of vanity, but over the last several months I have lost nearly 50 pounds. As a result, I have a lot of excess skin hanging on my upper arms, thighs, and stomach, and I must admit, it is pretty gross. I have tried tightening it with exercise and lotions, but with not much success, there is just too much excess. (I was too over weight for too long and my skin lost too much of its elasticity.) Well, I have another 50 pounds to lose and after that, I will be having cosmetic surgery to tighten my skin on those areas. I feel that I deserve it. I have worked very hard to lose this weight and improve my health, and I feel that I should look good as well as feel good. Is it still vain? Maybe, but it is also a matter of self esteem. I have gone from 256 pounds down to 202 pounds with a final goal of around 150 pounds. I intend to be around to see my grandchildren (when I finally have some) graduate from college and be the hottest granny at the graduation. And why not, I have changed my eating habits so that I am eating nutritious low-fat, low-carbohydrate foods. I exercise daily. I want to look as well as feel healthy for years to come.

well personally I don't want to undergo cosmetic surgery at this point in time but I am not sure I would be consistent with this later on If I would be in your case. Because you know people change as times pass by. So I have nothing against cosmetic surgery, if you think it would make you happier then go on, anyway it's your life you have live it according to you own choice.

I think it depends on why the person is getting it done. I don't necessarily agree with it when a person gets something done it hopes of boosting there self esteem. However if they are getting it done to fix something, like in your situation, i don't see anything wrong with it. I always said i would never have plastic surgery, but then i had to get a procedure done for health reasons.
