The United Nations’ Human Rights Council has launched a new session and will consider a controversial resolution to declare religious defamation illegal.
The resolution is really designed to permit countries with a dominant religion, such as Islam, to squelch any free-speech rights of religious minorities, according to Bill Saunders of the Family Research Council (FRC).
“So for instance, in some Muslim countries, it’s considered blasphemy to just say what a Christian believes — because that is inconsistent with what Islam teaches,” Saunders explains. “Or, to try to switch from Islam to Christianity, that’s considered apostasy, and in those situations you can be punished by death.”
It is debatable whether a voice for religious freedom will be heard. “Rightly so, the world objects to that kind of thing and says to these countries [that] we need to have religious freedom,” Saunders contends. “And religious freedom includes the right to have any religion that you choose and to follow it.”
The Human rights Council is dominated by Muslim countries. The resolution is also expected to be submitted to the United Nations General Assembly.
“The idea that free speech should be so restricted is a very dangerous one,” Saunders adds.

I've studied the book of revelation for 30+ years and feel the U.N. is the world beast (/body with a circle of ten crowns) of rev 13 (1-10 as opposed to 11-18). When the U.S. gets heavily steeped in the U.N. that is when things will really speed up.. 'world peace' will be declared.. but doesn't last.. (it's all a spiritual hoax).. the league of nations was the first form of this world body, but it expired when its head (the U.S. in the guise of pres Wilson didn't after all join..) When the head is back in place.. look out. I'm still undecided on Islams place in all this.. except perhaps as the old role as assassins as beheadings is said to be the form of the last great genocide..

...actually your remark was quite clever! I never thought of it that way.. studying the bible takes lots of contemplation.. and I'm not even done studying revelation/apocalypse even yet!

Thoughts of possible outcome, at times to me can be quite chilling! Imagine if Christianity tried to outlaw speaking against Christians and Christianity!? Gee, illegal to speak a differing opinion vs. right to kill those who disagree.. Hmmm, which should the U.N. be concerned over?

flowerchilde, you've made a great point, between differences in opinion and killing those who disagree with you, which is basically the position that Muslims hold if they are followers of the entire Koran. The truth is, if you are a Muslim, you can not possibly say that you do not agree with the Jihad extremists and their terror tactics, because their reasoning behind it are specific verses in the Koran that teach that "If you are a Muslim, you first of all, can't speak badly against another Muslim, and you must also agree with everything in the Koran, particularly verses that say (in cunning words) "FIGHT AGAINST ALL THOSE WHO BELIEVE NOT IN ALLAH." However, Muslims will try to deceive you by telling you that that verse only pertains to "THOSE WHO ARE WAGING WAR WITH MUSLIMS, OR TRYING TO HURT THEM," which is completely false. For one, it is their mission to subjugate all non-Muslim nations to the religion and power of Islam, and they do it by any means necessary, i.e, "Jihad" And it does not mean to struggle as Muslims claim that it does, it means to exactly what it implies, Koran 9:29.
Also, even the Koran states that "Allah" is the greatest deceiver. Now, what kind of religion teaches that its deity is a deceiver? Who in their right mind would want to be a follower of a god who deceives? It's also a fact that when Muslims are confronted with a question that might expose their evil deeds which they try to justify in the Koran, they never give you a straight answer, but simply go in circles. I promise you that. One example is that the Koran states that Christians and Jews are people of the book, however, this is not true according to the extremists. They are always yelling out, "All you Americans are infidels," which would include both the Christian nation and the Jewish nation, thus, every other nation is full of infidels except for the Muslims, who also consider their people superior to any other nation. If that isn't arrogance, then what is it?
I'm sorry for the lengthy response.

Again not true, you know I have seen your demo photo and I believe you are so brainwashed by American populist views, that you cannot seperate Islam and negativity whereever you go. All you ever talk about is Islam and your hate for it. All your posts seem to contain Islam in one form of another. I think it is not Islam scared of critiscm but people like yourselves, who fear that Islam's peaceful teachings are going to infringe on your way of life. So rather than co-existing, you don't and won't accept the possibility of truth, thus resorting on all the negative aspects in the political ring and attributing them to Islam.
Remember, your movement, is prejudicial and inciting to hatred, it is people like you who the good people in America try to ban simply because of the encouragement of clashing over false allegations.
Again, I anticipate your silly responses, but I think you need a dose of reality and earn yourself some dignity. You are mixing religous freedom with political freedom. Silly!
