MYLot Voices are in my Head!

Ok, this happens to me almost daily now. I am reading a discussion or a response from a friend. I get a certain voice in my head as I read silently. It is what their voice might sound like. LOL I have no idea of what their voice really sounds like. I just have a thought of it in my mind. Does this happen to anyone else? Can you almost know how they will sound?

I don't know about this...maybe you are engrossed too much here in mylot, too addictive to mylot until you reach a point of hallucination. You should slow down a bit, I know this place is catchy and once here we can become addictive.

That's so funny! Yes, sort of and can you imagine if we really hear each other talk and how wrong we would be! I don't know how to explain it either! Like for instance, what do you think I sound like? me Opal, well I'm not even Opal, I'm really Leslie so what do you think me Opal who is really Leslie sounds like? Probably not anything like you are imagining. And I don't really have a real sound for you Louise either, not really. Just a pleasant woman's voice. But it is funny that we "talk" to each other every day and really have no idea what we look like or sound like but yet in some cases we know some very interesting things about each other and our lives to an extent.

Hey, Opal, you are starting to sound like me. I was reading your post, hearing myself say it, seriously. Yeah, me with a Yankee accent, that is even funnier (No offense meant with the Yankee comment, I just know I have a very distinct, Southern drawl.)

They do have medication for just such instances ! Just kidding don't blow a gasket on me! I think people do that to kind of personalize it. I mean it helps when you put a voice with a name or comment. I'm going to stop talking now and go take my meds! LOL

Well, for me, especially if they are a myLot friend of mine, and someone in who's discussions you are always responding back too, you often know just how that person might respond, and then you begin to relate with them like if you were really having a discussion with them in person. For me, I enjoy this site because people are real and have different views, and you can gain Friendships as well to where you do really wish you could be near that person and can pretty much hear their thoughts as they express them here on this site as well.

You have a great imagination. I do not hear the voices, but I do know the wording and phrasing they might use. If they are having an off day, it is very visible to me, I guess in a way it would be like hearing their voices. I hope I sound better to you than I sound to me.

voices in your head is a serious mental disorder, and the sufferers do not realize what is happening to them and that they need help.

That is funny. I never really though about it before, but I do hear a voice while I am reading. It's almost like when you are listening to someone on the radio, you start putting a face to the sound of the voice. Then you see their picture and you realize they do not look ANYTHING like you pictured them.

I don't so much hear them as I see them. Of course, some of them use their real pictures, but those who don't, I get a mental picture in my head of what they look like, just from their posts. But, I am kind of like mykl when I read books, I start to hear the characters' voices as I read their conversations.

Ok, after going back and reading everybody's responses, I realized that I do hear some of the people I read. I very distinctly hear Loud, and Irish. And, as I told Opal, I hear her as me with a Yankee accent.

I just will not know if it is a southern Man or woman! I do the same thing with Books as well. If it is audio. I can already hear them, My mind is trying to picture how they look. i tend to hear familiar voices when I read. Somehow I mentally match the tome or manner of the persons writing to the speech patters of people(or actors)with similar patterns and that's how I "hear" them. with the known voice.
