It looks as if the family (of the dead soldier)has asked Obama to stop wearing the bracelet. I thought this was ironic that they don't want him to wear it anymore. What do you think?

I had forgotten about this. When he interrupted McCain and said "I've got a bracelet too." I felt sick. What a little boy he sounded like!! Holy cowmoly. I wonder why the media hasn't mentioned THAT. (rolls eyes).
I don't know who watched the debates on what channel, But I saw it on CBS, And they showed split screen most of the time. I could not believe how many times BHO tried to interrupt. Acting like he was about to speak, Holding up his hand, motioning to Jim Leherer. It was very revealing. McCain has been continually Criticized for "Not looking at Obama" I could see why. If you didn't see both men at the same time you should go back and watch the CBS version, if possible.
Here it is, If you want to spend another hour and a half of your life. (rolls eyes again) He does it twice in the first twenty Minutes. Wasn't that Gore's tactic in '04?

I wish I had one of those chess game timers because it sure seemed like Obama talked a lot more than McCain.

well I read the story and it seemed like they felt that he was using it as something that he was supporting of the troops, when in actuallity I don't think he cares what happens to them. They ask him to stop wearing it and he shouls of took it off right there, if it was I, I would make sure that the whole world knew that I ask him not to wear it any more and to stop using it as a crutch. And if he thinks so much of it, he should of been able to speak the name immediately instead of having to grasp for the name on it. I do not like this man and I think he is hiding a whole bunch behind that smile you see on his face.

Whether Obama wears the bracelet is up to him, but it's telling that Obama has no idea what name is engraved on the bracelet.

I read it..and I am not shocked that the family don't want him to wear it. He could not even remember the soldiers name without looking at the bracelet. Obama is a user. People who are planning on voting for him are either ignorant, uninformed or disgusting. They asked him to take it off and he refuses!!! Those who cannot see the evil in Obama now, will do so if he is elected.

Read the other side of the story - from the mother, who says that her ex-husband misrepresented her statements and her feelings on the radio - here
http://www.startribune.com/29863889.html
Pay particular attention to the part where she says "I don't know how they can take this and turn it into some garbage on the Internet." And the part where she sent email through the campaign website several days later to ask him not to mention it because she didn't want it to be interpreted as a protest against the war when so many others who had lost loved ones still supported the war.
And the part where she said that Obama's response made her proud. And that she thinks it should be "looked upon as an honor that both candidates wear them to respect the troops." And that the candidates "honor the troops by lifting the conversation to the issues."
And then remember who turned a personal story about a grieving mother into a campaign story first. Sgt. Jopek's mother is satisfied that Obama used her story to show that there are two sides to the story, and not happy that people are turning it into an issue. I say respect her wishes and stop being outraged for someone who is only upset that people are using the story the way that they are.
