Have you got the feeling that somebody might not be able to respond to your post

Everytime I post something here in mylot, I usually check it in the next few minutes and found it quite desperate when no one seemed to bother to respond Waiting still for the next minutes or more still no reply, then it goes to the next page of the "new discussion", then I don't check it anymore until the next day. But I am grateful to find out that few friends do care to respond though. Sometimes, I was wondering if I was understood or not, or other reason beyond that.
Have you ever felt the same way?

Yes I have had that as well. I think we all have at least most of us. Some of my friends don't even reply to my posts. But I keep repling to there's that is ok as well. Never know maybe they had nothing to say. That could be it. Just checked the + and left or never read it at all. I'm not sure why. drive's me crazy.

Sometime when I see a discussion, I usually figure out first what to say, when I wouldnt be able to construct at least a sentence, I wouldnt be able to respond a post, maybe that is the case of others too. Thanks for your comment onlydia !

Just keep on posting, have a great day !

Well you are not alone. I have started over 25 discussions and so far none have gotten into double digits. Only one with zero responses though. Most of the responses I have gotten have come in the first few minutes or at most a couple of hours of posting.
I just checked out the "no response" Heading above and I went back 50 PAGES, That only covered the last 20 HOURS. So there are a LOT of 'no response' discussions on myLot. I don't feel so bad now.xD

I had started some discussions here and unfortunately, only few responded. but its ok with me, perhaps they just do not find it interesting and they cannot relate to it. and since that tactics did not work, i would rather answer some discussions than start a topic of my own..

I have several discussions that I've started over the past week that I've been a member. A lot of them don't have any responses yet though. Of course one or two, where I posted them aren't very active. As for the others, I guess what I posted just wasn't interesting enough for any responses.

I think topics has some form of "art" too, it requires something that need to capture and appeal to other mylotters, its sometimes exhausting to think also at times to think of a good discussion to start.

I have experienced this many times. Everytime I too post a discussion I keep checking for responses and get disappointed when I dont see any responses. There was one particular discussion that I had started and not got any responses for the next 12 hours. That discussion finally got me more than 50 responses.

I have not posted any discussions in a while, so I have not had this problem. My feelings would be a little hurt, if I didn't get any responses to a discussion that I started. At the same time though some people I know just don't respond to certain types of discussions for whatever reason. So, I guess i would have to think about it that way.

I think its a give and take think, we often doesnt necessarily respond to all our friends discussion as well. Appreciate the respond.

I was like that back when I was somewhat new here, but as with everything in life, I learned not to expect so that I wont get frustrated or disappointed. I dont start that many discussions. I did use to checking my newly started discussion before it goes to the second page of the "no responses" section. After that I just continue on responding to others' discussions. I did ambition to be in the myLot Digest and have more than 20 responses to at least one of my discussions. I was able to achieve those. I was also in the top discussions page once. I dont mind not being on that page but it happened so just felt happy. These days, being busy and all, I just try to respond to my friends discussions and get in one post or two in a day.
You are right that friends are the saving grace in some discussions. They never fail to respond to at least those that they find interesting when I start them. Anyway, goodluck to all of your started discussions. Have fun myLotting.^_^

Well, same as you.. Everytime I post a new discussion after a few minutes I checked if anyone had response to my discussion but when I no one response to it I feel sad.. I'm thinking that my discussion isn't interesting or people don't care about my discussion at all.. Then the next day,if I saw there's already a response the more it motivates me to make another discussion or even response to others discussion..
However, I have so many discussions who have zero (0) response and I feel very sad with that.. I'm thinking maybe my tags are too bad or just my discussions are not interesting.. But it's ok since I know that I'm not the only one who had zero (0) response..

You're always easy to understand, torchablazed - your discussions are good, too. I don't get very many responses to my discussions (I've only started a few) - but that's fine, because it would be pretty hard to respond to lots of them if over 100 people commented - so I don't mind!

i too have discussions that nobody respond to it...although im quite bother about it, i just notice that too many discussions were posted daily that's why the turnover of the new discussions being posted on the first page was too fast...but im just hoping that maybe someday, someone wil respond on it...so keep hoping...and i want to advice you also to visit the no response section for us to help one another, there are discussions that are so interesting but has no response...
just keep up the good work...
happy mylotting!
have a nice day! God bless!

I havent been in the no response section, that would be helpful indeed, the problem with me at times, is that I won't respond if I can't relate to a discussion, hence, I couldnt help. Anyway, its good that you bring that up.
Have a wonderful day to you too sharie !

i too just respond on the topics that i can relate most or that interest me...otherwise, i may sound to be very nonsense if i did respond on the topics that i don't know anything bout it...i might just offend the owner of that topic, or i might sound too embarrasing not knowing what im saying....so i better not respond to it...
happy mylotting!
have a nice day! God bless!

Im sure that your posts are fine Torch, but dont worry about getting any responses,as for me here, well I am too busy responding to the posts that are written by others,if you take a good look around Mylot then there are so many to answer its not real. There only ever seem to be a very few that get many answers at all.just post away.

I do find it interesting that some discussions are so popular while others seem to only get one or two responses. I am still new enough to the site that I'm hoping I can perfect my posts to be comment worthy every time. I've found that some people don't like long posts, so short and sweet seem to get more responses.

You have the reason there, especially when a member of mylot has a lot of active friends in the list, there is a possibility not at all times, people can notice what you have posted.

well yeah got the same feeling ..especially when im still new here...but i guess its pure luck when somebody responded to your discussion besides your friends here..and i noticed that i had some members who were not in my friends list who had responded..in which im very grateful for them and of course with all my friends here..

When I was new here, I find it hard to generate maximum 10 responses, only latter I did realize that when you add friends here, the more responses you generate, still I am one of those who responded the starter is not on my friends list. Just like you I am also grateful to those who do make the effort of responding.

hmmmm...
There are some topics that you are pretty much guareenteed a response to. Generally religion or basic volitile debate topics. It also helpe to keep the questions open ended and not very specific.
The more specific a question I ask... generally I'll get no responses or only one or two.
Don't take it personally.. sometimes people just have no comments on the subject.

hi torchablazed hi again I think that its just a matter of
timing, and of being seen again and again, I know when I first started I got just a few answers, now I get a lot more as I have a goodly number of friends and they have gotten to know me too.I know I have felt just like you when I first started I will find your discussions too and give you a helping hand. okay.

I do think it sometimes and it did happen for me once and even until now but I cannot blamed MyLotters for just now I discover that posting a discussion about the food due to internet is not a good to response too but for the rest i have all responded very well......

I agree with you on that, its one of the reasons why other mylotters not seemed to respond right away due to slow internet connection.

yes..i always feel that evertime i start discussions..sometimes,i do feel that
nobody notices it..no body has an interest on it..as time goes by,i took it as a challenge, whenever no one pays attention to my discussions,i make sure that i will
do better in the next discussion for it to be noticed.sharing ideas is a lot of fun when someone else has the same idea or belief yo have.
in return,i never forget to go to the no responses discussions and comment on
the discussions there so that i could make a fellow mylotter happy.
