I don't know. Wish I could help you with what it is. I am worried about stuff that my son might get into too. He is almost 14 years old and is really pulling at the "I want to be independent & left alone" strings right now, as I'm sure he will be for quite some time now. You just never know what kind of things kids will get into nowadays. It is really quite scary. Don't you think?

Well, you are further ahead than I am in learning about what "emo" means. I didn't even know that it was a style of music and/or a group of people. I really need to find out more about things like this considering I have a teenager now. You just never know what they may get into when growing up.

what do you mean about emo? emo the type of music? I listen to emo type of music. Emo stands for EMOTIONAL. If you are referring to it as a emo as a type of person, they are those who listens to emo type of sounds and wear mostly black and has that black eye-rimmed glasses. You know the typical emo get-up. Thanks and happy mylotting!

haha...i liked the nemo joke. :) i am as lost as you about the emo thing. i asked some of the younger kids at my work about this a while ago because i had never heard of the term- all they really said was it is a name for someone, like punk or goth. i don't know if it is a really nice name or not... i will be following up on this conversation as well so i can find out, too. :)

look up the lyrics to the song "Emo Kid" by Adam and Andrew, it will totally describe the weird freaks. no one could give you a better description than that song can. no kidding.
heres my attempt to describe them:
they are people who pretend like they are super depressed (well some of them may be, but its just teen angst over exaggerated..) so they whine and cut themselves cuz they think they have the alltime worst pain in the world. they dress like girls and draw tear drops on their face with eyeliner. their music really isnt too bad...sometimes. i somewhat enjoy taking back sunday. but yeah, check out that song for a better description...

exactly! every one of them that i know, has a decent life. their families are nice to them. they all like to act like their father sucks and their mother is a pushover and a victim to abusive bfs or whatever. they would like to pretend like they are poor, but really---all of them that i know---are just like you and me and their families are so pleasant..

oooo OK , so from after hearing that song , I realized we have a major issue with trouble youth today , of course , I think we have always had issues with trouble youth . I was talking to one of my friends the other day and I found out many of these kids actually have families that are rather well off and are driving around BMW's and never have less than 50 bucks in their socks. So they are just crying to cry huh?

I'm not very clear on it but my son told me it means a boy who is a lot like a girl, wears makeup and black clothes and shows his emotions. Doesn't sound that bad to me, I think boys should be allowed to show emotion. I trained my boys to, within reason of course, just like us girls.

I totally agree , it is fine to show your emotions . A recent post earlier turn me to some articles posted about it . It can be dangerous. Though I suppose many things are dangerous , still I am defiantly going to watch out for this .
