Do you think the economy can get mended as quick at the politicians say while they are debating? I think we are in for a long hard time. What do you think? Is it going to get better soon??

They are saying that it could take two years. I do not see it happening that fast at all. It is in a heck of a mess and the taxpayers are already going broke because of it. I hope it gets better soon but who knows?

I am not an expert but then again, I don't trust the experts anyway, but I think it will take a lot more than two years.

No, this is going to take longer. The $700 billion package is a band-aid. It'll help us heal and slow down, maybe even stop the downward spiral we were in. By no means does this mean we are out of the woods yet. It'll take us a couple of years to recover from this. But it'll keep our banking system going, our retirement savings sort of stable, and our companies working...

I agree. I think we had better be prepared for the long haul on this one.

No, I don't think there is any quick fix solution. I think we are also in for a long hard time. I think the #1 thing that needs to be taken care of and what is hurting us the most, economy wise. The price of fuel and diesal fuel. The truking companies and ther companies have done their best to hold off raising prices. They can't do it any longer. Everything is going up and up, not by a few cents neither. Things are taking big jumps in price. Also the supply of corn is causing prices to climb. Animals eat the corn, the corn is used in food and now corn is being used for fuel too. Corn is very expensive, the supply is down. I am so hoping that things get better soon, this election is scary to me. So much is riding on this election and I don't think either canidate is the person for the job, I am hoping I am wrong.

I think we are in deep trouble. I do not see it getting better anytime soon. If they are right and paychecks cannot be paid and businesses will not be able to stock shelves, we will really be hurting.

I think the economy is in real bad shape, and I don't know if it will get better even the so called experts don't agree I just hope that it will but things like this usually take a few years to turn around in the united states, you first have to prevent a depression before turning the economy around, that is really hard, and hard for any political leader to take on, it is a hard challenge coming up for either political party in november.

I think it is going to take a while before things start to rebound-- perhaps quite a long while.
