I get so irritated when people answer a discussion just for the sole purpose of the money they are receiving. You know who you are! Answered my discussions a couple of times. The answer is so short and general that it is obvious that it was done quickly without any thought. People like this should be kicked off because it's not what mylot should be all about.

If their answer was very short, they won't get anything for it anyway. Their loss - don't worry about it.

Sounds as if you've really got the bit between your teeth, and maybe you
actually have a particular person in mind, but if you stop to think for
a moment, there is no way that you can be sure that short answers are there
just because people write 'just for the money'! Some people find it hard
to write long answers, some people have difficulty expressing themselves
in English, especially when it is not their first language, some people
don't have a lot to say, almost regardless of the topic, and those are
just a few of the more obvious reasons.
If you think a particular person is guilty of your charge, maybe you should
tell that person, instead of jumping to the generalisation you are making
here. As we look thru the discussions on Mylot, there are quite a lot that
have very short answers, and they tend to fall into three categories. First
are the ones where people are asking for advice, for example on which anti-
virus program is best, which really begs for a one or two line answer. Then
there are the ones where people are so obviously struggling to express
themselves in English that they write maybe just one sentence, and we have
to translate as best we can, because communications is the name of the game.
Then the third category covers the area where the person starting the
discussion writes a long entry (usually detailed personal experience), and
by the time you finish reading it, you realise that there's nothing really
to discuss, because all you can do is agree or disagree. Have you ever tried
reading a discussion you started.....as if somebody else had written it? Did
you feel inspired to continue the DISCUSSION, or was it one of those agree or
disagree situations? At the end of the day, we all hope to start or contribute
to great ongoing discussions, but we all need a bit of luck, so that our
contributions inspire others to continue the two way exchange!

hi asandifer that may be irritating and again a lotof times'
the answers may depend on the posters discussion too. it may not engender much of an answer if its something like what flavor of ice cream do you like? as for kicking people off, thats not fair as there are a zillion reasons why somebody might have made a short answer. You are new here as for what mylot is all about, its social yes, but also it gives a lot of us people a way to make some much needed grocery money. we are not all rich people, and dont sneer at people who want to make some much needed money. you are still new and mylot does not kick people off just because one person doesnt like their responses. grow up a bit here.

Yeah, that's the obvious. It's okay to write a short answer. But it should at least pertain to the question. Discussions should be a little informative don't u think?
