I just can't get enough sleep. I really want to get up early in the morning, like at half past seven. But it always turns out that i can't even open my eyes. So I always sleep till almost nine o'clock. Then after I have my lunch, I will sleep 2 hours mostly. After I get up, I still feel very sleepy.
I don't why I always seek for more sleep. But if there are important things to do the next day, I can always manage to get up even right before the alarm.
So, friends, can you tell me how many hours you sleep everyday? Do you feel yourself in lack of sleep? And what can I do to not to sleep so much?

My sleep patterns have changed over the past few years. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. The pains keep me from getting to sleep too early at night, but I finally get to sleep around midnight or 1 a.m. I usually only sleep about 5-6 hours at most. Then I have to nap at least once during the day. Even then, if I do anything during the day (doctor's appointment, grocery shop, whatever), it makes me tired, tired, tired. I can do one thing - run an errand or clean one room or do maybe two loads of laundry - in the day and that's all.

I usually got used to just having 3 or four hours sleep. Especially during the last week before a submission of a paper for school. Of course I am feeling sleepy in the day time. But I just tell myself that after everything, I can sleep as much as I want to. About your too much sleeping, you are like this, maybe because you are bored. Keep yourself busy about something. If you think you have enough sleep, then get up. You see, staying in bed will definitely keep that sleepiness. I think there are lots of things to do even at home... clean the house, mind the dishes, wash your clothes... read... study, or do mylot!

Thanks!I believe feeling bored can be one factor of my too much sleeping. Now I have just had my new semester began and my state of mind haven't returned from the long holiday. So I sometimes want to leave things till the next day. So, thanks, I will try to recover as quickly as I can.

I think 6-8 hours sleep time is enough for human being . Actullay it depends person to person. My Friend sleep whenever he steel some time from his hactic schedule . when he set free in bus/cab he sleep . in driving if he struck in jam again he sllep at that moments. May he his abnormal habit . I usually prefer 8 hours iin a complete sleep.

I usually sleep about 8 hours the most a day i really dont lack of sleep but at times i do the best thing is that the human body needs atleast 8 hours of rest so if you go to bed lets say 9pm at 6-7am you should be well rested and take your vitamins try to excersie atleat twice a week 2 hours the most and you'll feel the diffrent in your body.

I never seem to get enough sleep either. I can actually sleep at any time of the day or night but I wake up too much to get a good deep sleep which is needed to feel rested. For me to add up the hours I sleep I get in a day would involve too much math, sleep an hour, up for 15 minutes, sleep half an hour, up for 20 minutes.... I've learned not to overdue things and to sleep when I can, every minute helps a little.

I think you have got use to sleeping too much. My father never allowed us to sleep after6am. Even on holidays. So now we have got use to it and without the alarm even if it is a holiday can't sleep after 6am. Afternoon nap (Sometimes only)will be maximum 1/2 an hour. But we have dinner around 7pm and going to sleep by 9pm. You feel good when you get up early.

I feel the same way as most people comenting here, sleeping just isnt my thing but i try to even out my routine so i can get atleast 8 hours sleep. That might seem like a lot but it pays by giving you more energy for the rest of the day and for the rest of your life!

Hello,Vebusyin! Sleep is a natural healer. It is a remedy for many maladies.Sleep disturbance may contribute to many diseases like forgetfulness, fatigued, etc. So Idon't missout on seep and economize either.I normally sleep five hours in the night and two hours in the afternoon after lunch. One must sleep at least 7/8 hours daily. But 9/10 hours sleep may be good for you.If it is more than that, better it will be for you to consult the doctor. But make a schedule time for your sleep.thanx.

hmmm, very bad for me. I am addicted to be alive. I don't like sleeping as it reduces the time of living. I think sleeping reduces the time of living. But my friends said people sleeping more will live more! I don't know which is true. anyway I sleep around 4 to 5 hours a day. I can not sleep more than that. If I do, I get a guilty feeling that I have done a wrong thing by sleeping more.
I wanted to change this habit as sleeping is good health.

Yes, I totally support your idea that sleeping reduces the time of living. And that's why I want to change my situation. Now I feel I am leaving many things that should be done today to tomorrow only because I sleep most of the time over. I do feel very guilty about this.

Getting a sleep for a minimum 8 hours a day probably the best.I don't want to be a lazy girl! Actually, I used to wake up right before the alarm when I was in my third year in college. At that time, I feel very energetic everyday even having around 7 hours' sleep everyday. So I really want to change the situation I am having now.

I slept around 9 hrs depends on what time i slept, if i sleep at 10pm i probably wake up by 7 plus. But if i sleep after midnight, i probably sleep more than 10 hrs. Our body is very weird. You obey the body system , it will work regularly. If u strain it or overwork, they tend to rest more. So you slp late, you tend to slp alot more than usual. And even when i wake up. i still feel the sleepiness. You can try obey the system, like slp at 10 or 11, u probably just need to rest 8 hrs, you are fully charged
