how do you comfort a friend who is brokenhearted?

my tendency on comforting a brokenhearted fiend is to listen to her/him attentively and patiently. i just let her/him pour-out her/his feelings until she/he will feel relieve. and most of the time, i cried with her/him too because i can identify her/his hurts and felt the pain too. how about you? can you share an experience? thank u

The best way for me is to be a good listener. That way she/he can burst out to you whatever that inside the heart. I tend not to tell whether whatever the things had been done is right or wrong but comforting in a sense telling that there will another chance or everything will be okay. Be with him/her for a moment.

That's the best and only way to comfort a broken heart. i do the same when my friend go though this problem. lending a ear helps
