forgivness

Hi savypat, someone very close to me had a really hard time with forgiving. My motto is "hate the sin, not the sinner". I took yeas of prayer and conversation and experiences for this person to finally understand the motto. I'm not super human or better than anybody, I get pissed and struggle at times too, but there is no point in not forgiving... It doesn't change any outcomes and it does no good! I always used t tell the kids, and myself sometimes too, It doesn't matter cause God's gonna take care of me!

I guess it would depend upon the act that needs to be forgiven. I've been truly wronged a few times in my life and I can't say that I have forgiven them, I do not, however, dwell upon it. I try very hard to let it go if nothing else. As for myself, I have truly wronged a few people and have not forgiven myself in the least. I don't even try to forget it bcz then I may repeat the wrong, which I don't want to do. For the record, the wrongs I have committed were when I was quite young and did not understand the consequences of my actions - I do now and try very hard to never wrong anyone. I do believe the mistakes I have made in the past have made me a much better person in the present.
