Do you believe in "They"?

Do you believe in "they"? "they" being the government behind our government. Do you think that our government as we know it is perhaps a system set in motion simply to occupy the masses? I only ask these questions because in my opinion I see it as very possible in today's world. Between the media and the internet, I think that nearly everything we see may not be the truth. We are constantly bombarded by news stories involving everything from the war in Iraq to a child being kidnapped. Often times these things, though important, may only be a small sprinkle on the metaphorical ice cream sundae of our country's problems. I think that there is someone running our government, I just don't know if it's who we think. I'm not necessarily talking about a specific organization because I think that's too broad. Whatever the case, I want to know your feelings, I really want this to be a non-partisan, non-hostile discussion. Thank you in advance :D

Well, if "they" means a collective of people with their own interests and own wishlists concerning power and control, then yeah...sure. This is probably a longer list than we'd like to imagine, so I don't like to focus to much on the "they" and more on the problems created, undoubtably because of them. Free media, free economy, freedom in general. "Eternal vigilance is the cost of freedom"...right? In the end, who's causing the problems matters much less than the problems themselves, that's my philosophy. And in working to repair the problems, often you dig up the people responsible, so everyone wins lol. Well, not "they" obviously. But yeah, heh.

AH! thank you! I love it, but I must add that often times to solve a problem you must go to the source. That said, do you think there's any true way to address problems from a source that is for the most part unknown, and generally overshadowed by other "more important" issues?

Sure, there's ways of going about doing things...and everyone's got their own way anyway, the real key is to TALK about it and DO SOMETHING. The only way anything's impossible, is if no one tries. I'm aware sometimes you have to go to the source, but most of the time it's easier to simply fix the problem itself (though this is nearly always tough work in its own right). But that doesn't mean it never happens, can't ever happen, or isn't possible. I just play with psychology, if I must ever deal with "they"...some of them are just doing it for fame...that's how this country's been, "All I want to be is famous", and some of them are more shadowy than that. But ignoring them, but not the problems they make has worked for me so far. Skips the whole blame game people get so preoccupied with as well. But I can sometimes be something of a blunt instrument, I acknowledge that sometimes problems take a little bit more finesse. I figure I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, and encourage anyone who wants to fix problems no matter what their methods are as long as they accomplish some good.

once again definitely agree...but to me it seems there is a problem within a problem...that being getting people to not only believe, but then after they believe, to get them to do something. But this is a problem with any sort of movement. If only everyone could read our thread :P

Yes,i believe that there's a shadow government that controls most if not all aspects of our government...Call it what you may i also think they are a collective group of people who's sole job is to keep the masses under control...

Yes, i do believe that they do most of what they do solely for profit...Look at the "Wall Street Mess" the $700 billion bailout joke that one of their products from their "Greed and Corruption Inc."... Yes, i also think that you are right on the money one can't exist without the other now i don't agree with you about a happy little life i don't see them helping to create one. What i really think is we must unite and take our government from the few who really control this system of things...

now that's what i like to hear. it appears we share beliefs on our government. I'm curious, do you also believe that they do things for their own profit? I'm going out on a limb here, but if you do believe that, do you also believe that we the masses have a sort of symbiont relationship in that without the masses they have no power, but without the "shadow" we may not be able to live our happy little lives? and ps to anyone reading...i'm not a psycho..just a theorist :P

I believe that there are people with the desire for power and money and who attempt to manipulate our leaders, our economy and such. I don't believe that there is a vast, all encumpassing conspiricy to do so. I don't buy in to the whole "new world order" thing at all. I've seen Jones' movies and though there are grains of truth, most of it is imagination blended with unrelated news and is greatly debunked pretty easily.

I don't think that any one entity is in 100% control. It is true though that the Federal Reserve Bank controls our economy by inflating our currency, creating market bubbles, and manipulating interest rates. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin themselves warned against the idea of a central bank controlling our currency, Jefferson actually shut the first one down himself. Andrew Jackson shut down the second. Woodrow Wilson sold the U.S. to the third central bank in 1913, later coined the "Federal Reserve Bank". It is a multinational bank and is not part of our government. Monetary issues are supposed to be handled by congress, publicly. The Fed holds all it's meeting behind closed doors and simply tells us what our interest rates are, what our money is worth, all without question or explanation. If a BANK controls our money, I think it's safe to say that BANK controls us....wouldn't you agree?

very good point, and indeed i do agree. I really wish more people would just think about the world around them instead of believing everything they're told. It's one of my greatest frustrations. thanks for the comment
