Sup Lotters!
The name's Lady Kenator and I'm a newbie to myLot but I reckon I'll catch on pretty quick.
Anyone got any advice on what's good to do and/or what topics are great to get into a decent discussion about.
I have songs, poems and I'm considering starting a short novel. Should I post them up here to get second opinions?
I'll love to hear from you, so give me a shout out anytime :)
Have a good one

Hi Lady Kenator. Welcome. What I did when I first started out was to just browse around the different headings and see what kinds of discussions other people were posting and what kinds were getting good responses, what kinds of things caught my interest. I didn't do a lot of posting in the beginning and still don't do a whole lot. I only post to discussions that appeal to my interest. You will find a lot of discussions posted here that might not make sense or are just out there for the person to claim to have posted something. I don't pay any attention to those either.
As for what kinds of discussions to start, that just depends on what I might be thinking about that day, or if another discussion has sparked a question like one tonight has so I will post that question. I do more responses than starting my own discussions.
I have seen people post their writings on here. Personally I would not do it. But that is because I want to write to be a published author and I don't want any of my work out there where anyone else could steal it and claim it as their own. It would be difficult to prove it was my original work if I put it on here I think.
Good luck and have fun.

Sure, post them. People will really appreciate good literature. Although I'm not sure with the novel, I think that would be too long.
One good advise would be to read the mylot guidelines. Most newbies haven't really read them and are getting angry pretty quickly if their posts were deleted, because they had no idea they had a violation.
Another advise is to invite as many members to be your friends here. Although some mylotters doesn't accept friend requests from people they don't know, I think it is essential for those who don't have personal friends here. You can't have a discussion when you're all alone. But of course, don't go into a friend invitation frenzy. Make sure the member you're inviting has something in common with you.
So, welcome to mylot! I hope you will enjoy it here.
