Iv never dated someone older or younger, but I guess I might consider it if the person had most of the qualities I look for and we get along well together but I would only consider dating someone with a 3 or 4 year age difference, because I think to big an age gap could cause some difficulties later if you choose to continue the relationship, for instance, what if your at the stage in your life were your ready to consider having children, and because he's much younger he may not be, and the same could be said for someone much older because chance's are he maybe settled in his life and may already have kids and may not want to have more, I think theres a lot to consider when dating someone with an age difference, but what do you think would you consider dating someone older or younger.

i never used to date younger than myself or my same age it always was that they were older than me. even my fiancee now is older than me he is 3 years older. i guess some people have thier own likes even in age, but my fiancee is very mature and goal minded, he is like how i am mentally, and thinking about it maybe they are right that men's brains mature slower than a womans that is why many women date older (that was just a joke, i dont want to offend anyone on here)

I never thought I could date someone younger than me, but then I met my husband who is 2 years younger than I am, and we have been pretty happy overall.

I did and ended up marrying him. He is 7 years younger. I had a problem with age he didn't. I thought the gap was to big but he didn't. This past August we have been married 9 years. We decided age is but a number. If you have common interest and love each other age shouldn't be an issue.

I prefer to date someone older than me, by at least two years. I am one of those who honestly believe that women tend to be more mature than men, so I find myself compatible with men older than me. I don't feel any romantic inclinations towards guys who are the same age as mine or younger. They just remain my friends, no more.

I prefer dating girls of my age or two years younger. I can hardly make a connection with a very old woman or a very young girl. Our brainwaves just don't meet.

I've actually tried dating younger men and older men. I think it doesn't really matter as long as the maturity level of your partner is compatible with yours. A man matures late than women, so it would pose a problem for women to date younger men. But so far, I haven't had so much trouble dating younger men since most of the guys I've dated are matured enough to handle a relationship.

Hey there apples99
When I was 21 I dated a guy who was 18 but it really didn't work out he really was imature but now I would go out with a guy 4-5 years younger than me because at my age now 4/5 years isn't really a lot. I would date a guy who was maybe 10 years older than me but that is about it.

Hey there! I would someone older or younger than me. It depends on our age gap. I'll date a girl if our age gap is around 2-3 years, both younger or older than me. Yeah, there could be problems that might arise because of your age gap, just like you said. But, if both of you get well together, you enjoy each others company, share the same interests, there will be no problem. You should both understand each other so that your relationship will have no problems. Happy posting!!
