Foremost, I'd like to share with you that even here in our country (Philippines), we do celebrate this festival called Eid' Ul Fiter, for more than a couple of years now. Locally, we have Muslims living here so the government decided to consider this particular day a holiday nationwide.
I have to admit that I'm not a Muslim and the only reason I'm looking forward to this day, which is tomorrow (October 1), is because I'm planning to do general cleaning at home and have some rest at the same time. But in line with this, I know that I'm going to miss mylot for one whole day.
Then, about a main festival; I'm not quite sure what our main festival is supposed to be, because we Filipinos have many festivals being celebrated. Most of these festivities originated from the "patron saints' day". For instance, every 24th of June is being celebrated in some parts of the country because this is known locally as "St. John the Baptist Day". During this day, everyone who passes by San Juan (a community in the metropolis) is splashed with water; regardless if he or she is inside a public vehicle or is fully dressed with an attire going to an office elsewhere.
Aside from this, we also have celebrations like New Year, Christmas Day, Holy Week, All Saints' Day, and much more.
