Is it a MUST to be computer literate???

Depends. If a person's job will never put them in contact with computers, then there is no "must" to becoming computer literate. However, there is more to computers than work, so I think everyone would be better off being computer literate.

It is important in the present context to learn computer operations and applications.The technology is developing very fast and we are to keep in touch with every development and for this computer knowledge is absolutely necessary for all of us,else we cant cope with the changing world.So at the age of seventy I have started learning computer applications recently and the computer teacher is my twelve year old grand son.Thanx.

Actually I would suggest that its better to have some basic knowledge about computers. You donot have to be an expert in it. But most of the good paying jobs do require some basic computer knowledge. Moreover nowadays internet is ruling the world. If one knows to use computers and the internet, it will help him to gain a lot of knowledge as well as be very effective in entertainment. So I feel its good to know computers and also how the electronic devices function when linked to computers. That way you will have a huge range of options open for you and you will not need the help of others to help you each time with the devices. You will not feel low in front of colleagues in your job front too. So give it a try.

It is not an advantage for knowing how to use computers. But it is a disadvantage if you don't know how to use it. It is a MUST these days as the world is automating in every aspect.
