Have you ever joined a DOTA tournament in your place?

I haven't tried it yet coz I'm not that really good in playing DOTA(especially on money shots and denying creeps). But I'm improving in delaying the creeps on my lane. I can also be a killer and supporter but most of the time I am the supporter on the team.
To be in a tournament also requires a team. So if you're a lone player, you would'nt have a chance to join into it. I only have two friends who frequently plays DOTA. It's also a bonding game for us. I doubt if we can really join a tournament coz were not really serious when playing. We're playing it just to enjoy and have some fun after a week of busy jobs.

My friends and i joined a dota tournament a couple years back. We played mostly for fun for a while got pretty good and decided to see how well we would do in a tournament. We did horrible just because we werent too used to playing normal mode. Apart from that all the other teams had perfect combos of heros that just owned us. That kinda discourged us from joining another one.
