Yesterday the poor dog, that's all I can say. We put her morning food out at 8 am like always. She didn't budge from her doggie bed. She didn't budge to go potty. Around 11 am I pulled her from her bed and put her out. She peed once she was out and ate. Then back to the bed. She didn't move again until my hubby got home at 4:30 pm. She went out this morning, but not eating. Vet told us to give it a few days. This may be the "prudent" answer, but not one that makes me comfortable. Has your dog ever acted like this?

My dog has done this to us also. He eventually comes out of it. I guess they have times where they just want to lay around and not do anything. If she does not start to get up and get moving around in a few days, I would have her checked out.

It sounds like your dog is maybe stressing out about something or not feeling well. I know you have said before that your dog is part Whippet and those dogs are really sensitive. Try to give her a little bit more attention today and see how she acts.

Well if you had cool damp weather could be arthritis working on the dog and aches and pains make then not want to move alot so with the cooler weather coming up I would see if that is a possibility. Good Luck.

It can be had when our pets are ill. I was told once, when my dog was not eating, to make up some hamburger. That tended to get her to eat.

We've had this a few times when one of our dogs was ill. I think they must have eaten something, because once it came out the other end, they were fine.
With diarrhoea (is that spelled right?) they are not supposed to eat for 24 hours.
Did your vet mention taking her food away?
Hope she is back to her old self soon.

it happens to my dog at some point, he was not on his his jolly moods and he is restless on his bed.. and then suddenly he throws up, you can even hear the sound on his stomach and then he potty but it was all water. i was really scared and called our vet and she said to give me dog a med to stop his throwing. after a while, he calm down but feeling weak and haven't eat for almost a day! but i let him be.. i search the net and found out that he was somehow struck my a heat stroke. Because that day, we came home from my mothers house and in the way home, our car aircon broke and its the mid afternoon at was searing hot! so now, i am bringing a bottle of water for him whenever we carry him out, just in case.

Hi ersmommy1...my dog has been off in herself recently, infact I was up with her most of the night on Saturday, even had to take her out at 3.00am because she was been sick, she's been like this a couple of times over the past couple of months, I haven't taken her the vets with it because after 24hrs she seems to pick up again but if it happens again I shall because she is getting old now so I will get her checked out and make sure it's not something more serious.
