Did you know that iron was they key carrier of oxygen in the blood, I didn't. In a newsletter from remedylif.com I learned this little fact -
"Up to 8 out of every 10 teenage girls and premenopausal women are deficient in iron--the key carrier of oxygen through the body. The deficiency can result in fatigue, poor concentration and sleep problems."
The article goes on to provide six tips to get more iron, thus decreasing fatigue, as well as helping you to sleep and concentrate better. They are
1 - Eating some extra lean red meat
2 - Cooking in a cast iron skillet - EASY one!
3 - Eat vitamin C rich food - OJ is a good one.
4 - Select iron rich foods.
5 - Drink coffee or tea between meals and not with food! - A big help for us caffeine drinkers!
6 - Iron supplements
These little tidbits could prevent you from reaching anemia, the final stage of iron deficiency.
You can read the article here http://www.remedylife.com/general/articles/content?cid=1600&ctid=2
Now that you know, are you showing signs of Iron-Deficiency Anemia? Do you get enough?

Be careful taking Iron suppliments, many of them constipate you and make you very uncomfortable.
