With no disrespect to many friends, my time is limited, so I just turn off the notifications for all but a few select, very special friends. It's just all I can handle. Still, I do look for the posts of other friends and I respond when I can. I don't cherish any friend less because I've turned off the notifications. I just work very long hours, and my poor health has me in doctors' offices several times a week, so there are limits to what I can deal with.

I just answer what I get to. I don't really think you're obligated to answer everything your friends do, even though it helps them, you can always do it at your own pace. Just do your best.

There is nothing that says you have to answer every discussion that your friend start. In fact, you are only supposed to respond when you have something to say, and not just respond for the sake of responding. That's why I don't have all of my friends on 'notify'. I have 700+ friends and could never keep up with all of them that way, nor would I want to. I read discussions that catch my eye, and respond accordingly. I also do NOT delete or clean out my friends. What's the point?

I just tend to reply to the discussions that I can answer, although all my friends write good dicussions sometimes I can't answer them, but enjoy reading them. Thats what I do as I have many pages of friends. Hope this helps

i envy you for having so many friends lol i think responding only to the only that is interesting is the best solution when you are buried under piles of messages
