what are affilate programs???

what are affiliate programs??
only thing i know is that we have to put their ads in our sites.
but i dont know whether we get paid when someone clicks on ads or we get paid when someone buys something from their sites,
please explain dont give ref links only.

When someone buy from your link then you will get paid. This is what affiliate link means i think. Those who is good on convincing people can get real benefit from this type of programs. Because i heard they pay good amount to affiliates.

With affiliate programs, you'll get paid by selling products or by recruiting members to their site. But, I'll admit it's hard to sell something or recruit members online.
By getting lots of traffic everyday to your blog or your site, you'll get higher chances that someone might buy something. But, be sure that the quality of your products that you sell is good.
Anyway, you may try squidoo, it's free. You may even promote your referral links there and at the same time sell quality product from amazon and other programs. There's no risk with that site. So you may start creating your own lens. Just make it more appealing for your readers.
