Remember when Beyonce and Rihanna were battling it out not too long ago. People took sides. Which of the two ladies of pop/r&b would you say is #1? Beyonce hands down!!! She is obviously a better singer, dancer and performer. Rihanna's songs have been catchy but not cuz of the singing power. They just have good hooks like in "Please Don't Stop the Music" or "Disturbia". I mean, who can forget a couple of years back when everyone was saying "Ella ella eh eh"!!!! I'm guilty of that too ;) Rihanna doesn't dance like Beyonce in her videos. Rihanna just walks around. Her attempts at moving around in the "Umbrella" video and during the MTV music awards were horrible. She can't sing and move at the same time. One of the two always suffers but BEYONCE!!! She can sing and dance at the same time and still hit those notes! And that girl can work it in those 4 inch heels!! Rihanna's just had a good manager and a team that knows which songs to pick for her. Don't get me wrong. I don't hate Rihanna. I think her music is fun but I can't see her in music 10 years from now. Her looks will only get her so far. Even if Beyonce gained 100lbs, she'd still be putting out records because she would still appeal to the older demographic that would want to hear a good quality song by an artist that has the talent to back it up.

I think that they are a lot different from each other. After all Rihanna is a R&B singer and Beyonce sings pop type R&B. However, i think that Rihanna is a better singer and i like her new release Disturbia. It is a very catchy tune just like Take a Bow and Please Don't Stop The Music. I haven't heard any new songs from Beyonce so i wouldn't know how she sings. Beyonce, however is a lot more atractive looking and sings a lot better.

Actually I think Rihanna is more of the pop singer than Beyonce. More of Beyonce's music especially with Destiny's Child falls into the R&B category although not all of it. But I definitely agree that they're different but I think Rihanna wants to try and be in the same category as Beyonce and that just ain't happenin'. When Rihanna first started she didn't do much REAL singing. It wasn't soulful or anything like that. It was something anyone could do. But when she came out with that Unfaithful song, she was trying to prove herself as a singer and to me, she just fell flat. Her voice is very nasally and she just does not have the power or the range that Beyonce has. I think she's been successful in the last two years because her music has crossed over into the pop genre. You hear more electric guitar in her music which appeals to people outside of the R&B group like that Shut Up and Drive song and the one that's out now with Adam Levine from Maroon 5. Rihanna is working with a variety of artists which is smart because her music is now falling into more than just one category/genre and therefore RADIO STATION, which means more money. Beyonce needs to rethink her strategy if she wants to stay in the biz.
