In Eating his meals?
My son who just turned 9,is so slow in finishing his food...except when it is his favorites, which are crunchy and crispy chicken, spaghetti or burger..But, he can't eat that everyday!! He has to have some variety and more nutritious foods...
We always argue about that. He always have reasons why he's slow..
Sometimes, I tell him that I will give him a reward of some sort, just to be able to finish it within half an hour..It takes him about an hour or worst an hour and a half to consume it all..
Do you have any special tricks to share?

Hi there!
We just had the same problem too with my little nephew. But he's just a kid and a few days back he doesn't want to eat anything solid except drinking his milk. But now I was able to feed him properly. He now eats rice and there was nothing special that I did but to be firm with my voice when I'm ordering him to eat and I think you should do that too. Be firm with your voice. Your son is big enough to be told to eat fast or properly.
You can also try giving him some vitamins to boost his appetite. That might also helps.
Ciao!

My daughter is only two years old... and i still spoon feed her... and i can't force her to chew the food fast... so i have to wait until she swallow everything before i give her another spoonful... so her meals would usually take like an hour to be finished... and sometimes even longer than that... so i really do not have any tricks yet... but i will try to device one when she is older and she is the one feeding herself...

Sometimes, my daughter eats her plate of food
in front of her TV in her room.
And, I can just imagine what the other Mylot Moms will
be saying about that!
Some people say it's not good to let them eat in front
of the TV.
But, when she does, she doesn't complain about eating.
She's very picky about eating.
So, that's my trick to get her to eat.
Doesn't help her eat any faster though.

I don't think i had a problem with my daughter's eating habits during that age.I just cook food, put everything she needs in the table and then let her eat by herself together with me.I tell you she had a healthy body until now.I've been serving her vegetables since she was very young and until now she still loves it.Shes a teenager now and i am very thankful she stay healthy all the time.

When I see that my kids are purposely wasting time rather than getting done, whether it be with eating a meal or doing a chore, I set the timer. When the timer goes off, time is up. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
For example, my daughter complains for an hour that she is so hungry, dinner finally gets finished cooking, I make her plate. Suddenly, she doesn't want to eat. She sits at the table playing with her food. After 10 minutes, I tell her that I am setting the timer, and when it goes off, her food is going to be thrown away. I usually give her 20 minutes, and once she realizes that time is going away, she cooperates. the key was for me to set it and stick with it.
