i was just thinking that how can a religion ban music???
music is one of the faces of god according to me.

Yes,anything putting fuel on lustful desires,should be banned.Music is also one of such means.Our Holy Prophet(pbuh)had put fingers in his ears when the voice of flute started coming during a journey.For purity of mind and soul,we should avoid listening to music and this is what Islam teaches.We should not feel shame in accepting a fact.
