For the last 2 weeks I've been waiting for my dad to come home to help me install my new xm satellite radio. I read the directions 2 weeks ago and they looked complicated so i asked for his help. Today i REREAD the directions and realized that i don't have to rewire things its a freaking fm transmitter. I could have done it myself 2 weeks ago and not wasted 2 weeks of my activation.
Have you ever done something like this...read directions and thought they were hard then gone back later to find that theyre so simple it makes you feel stupid???

Yes I have done the same thing, I guess everyone has, it looks hard, so we wait for someone else to do it for us. We all under estimate our abilities. I think that is what is wrong with our elected leaders they are just waiting for someone else to do it. But I have faith in Americans I feel we all are capable of doing great things. I had never met anyone who didn't have something to teach me. Sometimes it was to just not to be like them.

im a pro at being stupid!! i argued with my hubby today about how to use fix a flat lol.. i have had several projects to do around the house where i would buy the fixtures and then think i need parts to go with it just to buy a whole bunch and open it to find it came with them but it was like 7 months later from when i bought it to i couldnt take it back.. so i have various parts stuffed around ugh.. and then there is connecting up all the media stuff.. i will do the cords and end up using too many and my hubby who cant even work the remote to the tv will figure it out..

I am the same way. Quite often something looks really really hard the first time around, but easy after I've read it a few times, or let the manual sit on my desk for a few weeks. I have no idea why these things always look more complicated the first time around, but for some strange reason they do.

I am sure it was very frustrating to find out that you wasted two weeks waiting when you could have down it two weeks earlier,I think everyone has times where they read directions and think it is going to be difficult, and then later on they reread the directions and find out it is a simple task,I know it has happened to me several times in my life, and I felt stupid when I realized I had wasted my time, but I considered it a learning experience, because it taught me to read the directions in more detail before assuming it is going to be a difficult task.

Sometimes i find i look at the pictures and think god that looks hard and then it turns out that its not hard when you read them...i think that was part of my problem this time. Now i know for next time (this weekend cause i got my dad the same thing for his birthday gift)
