My husband had a meeting up by the mall yesterday. The kids and I drove him up there and thought we'd walk around the mall for a while, while he was in his meeting. After I dropped him off I headed accross the street to the mall and parked. The spaces between my van and the cars next to me was very limited and so I pulled out the double stroller opened it and left it at the back of the car. I went to the left side of the car to get my 1 1/2 year old out and decided to put her shoes and socks back on before I put her in the stroller. While putting them on I was watching this woman parked behind me talking on her cell phone. She then got into the car and backed straight into my huge double stroller knocking it inot my car!! She then stopped, drove forward, and backed up again stopping just 1 inch from hitting the back of my VAN!!! Then she continued on her way, not even stopping to see if there was a child in the stroller, or anything! I was so furious, in shock, but also thankful!! I walked away with my two girls safe in their stroller my heart still pounding realizing that in that little moment I could have lost them forever, or they could have been hurt very badly!! Praise God for his protection!

I just dont know what goes through peoples heads... i would have been hitting on her car after the first hit on the stroller and made her realize what she did... and then to just drive away... Atleast your little ones where safe...

No kidding! Did you get the license number? I would have called the police quick. Imagine the damage she could have done. And what about the next time? People need to put their stupid phones down. This drives me nuts. It happens when I take kids to school. Parents dropping off their kids talking on the phone. I know this is crazy but maybe they could actually talk to their kids!

oh wow, yeah. You can definitely see that the person that was driving was definitely not paying attention. But like you said thank God that your child was not in the stroller. It would have been tragic. I can't believe the lady didn't even stop cause I'm sure she would have noticed that she hit something.

Oh my God! Are you serious! I thank God as well that your children didn't get harmed! That is ridiculous that the woman didn't even stop or get out and see what was going on! I would have gotten her tag and called the police on her because she definitely does NOT need to be driving. It's truly a blessing that your children were not in the stroller.

Wow, that is horrible! Yet, that is great and I'm really happy that your kids weren't hurt or anything. That girl should have made sure everything was okay. And I wonder why I'm not surprised she was talking on her phone when it happened? It's like, "Hey lady, there are more pressing matters you need to be focusing on instead of chit-chatting! You know, like the fact you're backing out in a crowded parking lot with kids around?" People make me mad not paying attention to the road. Especially when they almost hurt someone in the process. But again, I'm glad nothing worse happened.
