So, What are You Reading These Days?

Reading, I believe is one of the most important events that a person can partake in on a daily basis. I believe that it is important for maintaining a healthy memory as well as reading being a great learning tool. Many people read books that they consider to be their favorite genre, which for me by the way is science fiction and fantasy as well as books on the paranormal and ufo's. Call me crazy, but many of my friends do not consider me so; at least, I hope not. LOL. Besides these great genres, I consider the most important reading of all time is the Holy Bible. I find this book to be full of great history as well as the truth about the Lord, the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Today, I am reading The Left Behind Series. It is not the newest reading, but I am enjoying the books. I finished the first book within a couple of days, mostly because I am unemployed from a full-time job as well as laid up due to a foot injury from a hiking trip. I am also watching the movies that go along with the books. I find that the movies are not as detailed, as each book is extremely long which would make the movies as long or longer than the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. One book that I finished not long ago, which I also thoroughly enjoyed was the Shack. I found it rewarding, funny in some instances as well as extremely sad. Anyway, let's discuss what your favorite books are. What are your favorite newspapers and magazines? Happy reading!

Excellent. I read the Reader's Digest as well. I have read all of Dan Brown's books and have found them enjoyable. Have learned a great deal from what I have read and reading has lead me into doing a lot of writing and recently published my first book and now working on my second. Thanks for the response. Have a great day.

I like Fantasy too. I'm reading "The Dark Side Of The Sun" by Terry Pratchett. He's the greatest author ever. I love the "Disk World" series.

I am currently reading "All That Matters" by Wayson Choy. I met Mr. Choy a few years ago, bought his book and had him autograph it. I am just getting around to reading it now (I thought it was about time). On the side I am reading a book on writing - "The Maeve Binchy Writers' Club". After that I will probably go back to my spiritual non-fiction books that I have on hand - "Laughing Matters: Learning to laugh when life stinks" by Phil Callaway, and "The Secret to True Happiness" by Joyce Meyer. I also have her book "Teenagers are People Too" and I read another one of her books a couple of weeks ago. I think they will all sound the same. We'll have to see. But she makes a lot of sense and has reached me, especially with her daily online program. Outside of those I like reading mysteries and general fiction.

I read a great deal of spiritual books which pertain to subjects out of the Bible. A great deal of good reading. I like to read about the prophecies of Jesus in the Old Testament, as well as the New Testament and how they all relate. Thanks for responding and have a great week.

I think reading is a very good thing because it helps people to broaden their minds and helps them learn new things, when I was a kid I used to love reading mystery books like the Clue books, and the Boxcar children series, and now that I am older I do not read that often, because I have a short attention span, right now my fiance is reading to me from a book called Upon A Good Land by Vilhelm Moberg and it is the second in a series of four books, and right now we are trying to find a copy of the third book which is called The Settlers.

At the moment i am reading Jane Austen's Emma. My favorite genre is paranormal romances, or basically anything with vampires in it.

Cool. I enjoy learning about the paranormal and enjoy reading about it. I have a friend who was referred to by my niece when she was younger as a vampire because of some of his habits and body language. I told her that vampires usually do not hang out during the day. Thanks for commenting and have a great day.
