I'm trying to get an idea of what is the worst injury people have gone through. I think the worst injury I have ever experienced would be that I was in the 7th grade and ended up breaking my ankle in 2 places. Not 1, but 2. Because of those 2 places, I had to have surgery to help it heal correctly. To this day, when I look at the scar, I can just still feeling it hurt! So, what's yours?

I was in a motorcycle accident. all in one shot I had- compound fracture left femur, damage to femoral artery(had 5.5 inches replaced), multiple fractures to left shin, hole in left calf the size of an egg, fractured skull just above the eye, brain contusion, broken nose, 140 stitches in left leg, 20 stitches above the right eye, and road burns to various degrees over about 65% of my body. How's that for an experience.

The worst that I can think of was when I was shaving my legs with a disposable shaver while taking a shower. My right leg (the leg I was shaving) had slipped from where I had it and I cut it pretty good. I had a gash, about 2 inches in length, that kept bleeding, non stop. So I bandaged it up as best I could after I got out of the shower. About 5 days later I dared to check it and it looked healed up, but when I accidentally passed over the area with a shaver, it started to bleed all over again. That was 18 years ago. To this day it makes my leg feel strangely weak whenever I think about it.

I have broken my wrist, and I have broken my colar bone. Both were pretty equally painful. I would say the colar bone was more inhibiting though, as I could not do a whole lot with it broken. Neither of them hurt as much as having kidney stones though.

One time when i was out with some friends getting drunk, we went back to a friends place and were wrestling around in his park slash grassy knole between the apartment buildings and I fell in a hole and broke my leg. At first i just thought i twisted my ankle really good because my ankle blew up huge in a matter of seconds. So we went upstairs had a couple more shots and i got up the guts to take off my shoe, it was already turning greenish and was like the size of a grapefruit. So the guy i was supposed to drive home ended up driving me home in my car because it was a stick shift and i told him just keep my car till morning and i'll catch him at work tommorrow. My wife is a nurse so she obviously was not happy with me and did not care what i did. I showed her so she made me put my foot up on pillows and sleep it off till the morning and then i would just go with her to work and see her doc. Woke up and it was green from my knee down and my leg was twice as big! Long story short it ended up i broke the very bottom inch of my fibula in the back of my ankle area and had to have surgery that ended up with 4 titanium screws and a titanium plate on the left side of my ankle and about 7 months of physical therapy. Most expensive night of my life. Just showed me that i'm not invisible anymore. Pretty good story huh.

I think my worst injury was when I hurt my back, it still hurts even today. The worst part is that a neighbors dog attacked me, and I fell against the porch, it really hurt it big time, and no one has ever even made the owner pay my hospital bills or anything else for that matter.

hi irishrose the worst injury I have had w as three years ago.I fell, hit my shoulder on concrete sidewalk, and smashed the bones so badly I am now a bionic woman. myleft shoulder joint is made of steel and plastic, and I have only regained about a tenth of the use of my left arm.I still remember the pain of getting on the x ray table and having to move that left arm, and the x ray tech snipping at me.I got cramps in the calves of mylegs at the same time, and I was in utter agony, and he was yelling at me to hold still. I wanted to smack him one for I hurt so badly I could have screamed and he was so insensitive to it all. the doctor read out the nurses for not having given me a dose of demorol before I was taken to x ray. He was one of the nicest kindest doctors I have ever met. I was 79 at the time. I can still imagine the pain.
