Toshiba and Dell. Toshiba because two of siblings each have one. They both their units around a year before I bought another brand. Three years later, my unit's board crashed beyond repair. Yet their Toshibas still work today despite being older than my unit. Dell has a good reputation among corporate users. One of my techie coworkers told me that Dell's motherboards are durable. Caveat though: my bro has a Dell laptop. He said its hard disk had to be replaced, but other than that, the laptop was working fine. So I guess you have to check out which brand of hard disk is inside your prospect laptop.

Some people said Toshiba have good wireless. Better than another brand. It's that true?

About your question on whether Toshiba laptops have good wireless internet: I'm afraid I wouldn't know as the ones we used didn't have wireless. They're that old, haha!

I like Sony because of the alternate log-on capabilities. I think Toshiba has this as well. You sign on with your thumb print rather than a simple password. Tres cool.

I think the best laptop is a tie between a Dell and a Fujitsu. I have owned quite a few Dell laptops and desktop too, and have always been very satisfied with the whole process, right down to the whole time of warranty. I have read horror stories about Dell computers from people, and I have to say that after being a Dell customer for the past 5 years and ongoing, and having not one of these horror purchases hapen to me, I have to say that these stories are false, and probably put out there by either Dell's rival companies and their employees, or by people who have been paid by other computer companies to trash Dell. I just can't see any of these stories being true. If any of them were true, some of this would have happened to me in one of my many purchases from Dell. And for Fujitsu, which is my latest laptop/ tablet pc, I have to say that Fujitsu rocks as well. The laptop that I purchased from them is even a lower end tablet, the Lifebook T1010, that is aimed at people on a budget. But even so, this laptop is incredibly awesome. I didn't need all the added security features that comes with the Lifebook T5010, which is identical to the T1010. I do not know or understand the difference between active digitizers, which the T5010 sports, or tha passive resistive digitizers, which the T1010 sports. Some people have said that the active ones are much better and much more responsive, while others have stated that there is no difference. I have never used an active digitizer computer, so I don't know the difference. But all I can say is that my T1010's computer touchscreen is and works flawlessly, and is just awesome. Also, in Consumer Reports, Fujitsu laptops have ranked, on a 1 to 10, low to high scale, at a 8.4 and 8.6 rating, which falls only second to Mac laptops, which had a 9.4 and 9.6 rating. This makes Fujitsu laptops second place and also above all other Windows-based laptop manufacturers. And the latest results have placed Fujitsu at the top, ranking even higher that Mac laptops. The neweer rating for Fujitsu laptops are 9.4 and 9.6, while Mac falls down to 8.9 and 9.2. Not surejust how these ratings are done, but from just owning a Fujitsu laptop, I know that they are one of the best out there. Well thanks for listening. To sum this up, I highly recommend either Dell or Fujitsu laptops. One laptop that i will never recommend is Sony brand... In my own experience, I have found that Sony Corp. does not honor their warranties. My further research have also proveds that Sony Corp. trains their techs to give false statements about computers that are sent in for repair or replacement under the warranty, whereas the techs are taught and trained to lie and lie in a way that the damage is the fault of the owner, therefore freeing Sony from any repair or replacement obligation. This is a very poor business practice, and this is also why, when at one time I was totally committed to Sony products, now I will never own another Sony product again... All of my family and friends feel the same way, and have refused and boycotted Sony, and from making any purchases of products made by Sony. Well thanks for listening, and I do truly hope that whichever laptop brand you choose, you have gotten your money's worth, and are extremely satisfied. After all, that is what it's all about, right? being satisfied that you have made the right purchase? Thanks for listening!
