Do you look your age?

Some people look very young for their age, some people look a bit older than their age. Which are you? I have always looked and acted older than I am. Nobody can quite believe I'm only 28. I bet those of you who talk to me here on Mylot are a bit surprised by that too. Even people I've met online are surprised how young I am because I seem so mature for my age. I usually say that comes from being a young mom and having to grow up quick, but that's not really true. I've always been very mature for my age. And I think the real reason was because when I was a child, my friends were all adults. I rarely had any friends my own age. Even now my best friend is in her 50's. She has a child my age. My looks are also decieving and always have been. When I was 16 I looked like I was in my 20's. I went to a bar when I was 17 and was able to drink (legal drinking age here is 21) I wasn't carded, they just let me in. I've never been carded when I went to buy beer or smokes. Recently we went to the fair, and there is this game where they have to guess your age, weight, or birthday. If they guess wrong you get a prize. I asked him to guess my age, and he said 35. Now that I'm older I'm not so crazy about the fact that I don't look my age, but when I was younger I loved it. Hopefully soon my age will catch up with my looks, otherwise when I'm 50 I'll look like I'm 80, lol.

Who knows? At 56, when I look into the mirror I see my favorite person - me at around 37. I used to look young. I remember when I was 21 and my dad took me out for my first (legal) drink, the waitress couldn't believe that I was 21. She said I looked more like 16. (That didn't go over very well.) When I was 40, people thought I was about 32. Now, though, since I'm in constant pain with my firbomyalgia, and since I have old looking skin (from being permanently thinned by shots for my back injury), I probably look older than my age. Of course, my son says the right thing. He says I look about 45 to him.

Since I have hit 18 I have been told I look younger than I am, but when I was a kid I looked older. Once I was out with one of my sisters friends eating dinner and a guy was hitting on me and offered to buy me a shot. I was TWELVE! A few years ago I was working with this high school kid who looked shocked at the fact that I said my kid was 6(at the time). I asked him why he was so surprised I am 28 and he said that he thought I was only 19.

No, I am 30 now. I was 28 at the time of the conversation. You think I am old!

So you're 28 right now? See, by the way you chat here on Mylot, I would have guessed you were much older. You seem so mature when talking to you. When I was about 22 I was chatting with a neighbor who had a son who was about 5, same age as my oldest was then. We came upon the topic of age and she said she thought I was same age as her, about 32.

Looking Old - My latest photo.... notice the wrinkles around the eyes. what the heck Im still in my 20's... see what children do to a girl.
I have the same problem of looking older than I really am. I was taken to a sports bar on my 16th Birthday and the Bar Tender brought out shots for me and everyone at my table. I guess they saw presents and assumed it was my 21st. Now that I am 26 I look like Im in my late 30's early 40's. My husband on the other hand still gets ID'd wherever we go. Its starting to get embarrassing. Check out my latest photo. You can actually see wrinkles around my eyes. What the heck...I'm still in my 20's. See what childbirth can do to a girl!

Me - How old do I look?
You don't look that old to me. Perhaps it's just the picture. Those wrinkles are natural, I have them too.

i am like you too, when it comes to everything..my looks, the way i act,the way i talk,my decisions and everything......i am 22 by the way and people always guess my age to be 27,not much older but still older and i know well that it comes from the fact that i spend my whole time with older people, when i was young i never had friends my age,i skipped my very first two grades when i went to school so i never had classmates my age either,my current boyfriend is 39 and we don't even feel that we have an age difference, and nobody else feels so either! i neither love it nor hate it but you're right that i may hate it when i get older

My husband just turned 34, so not a huge age difference. Only 5 and half years between us, but he's also very mature, especially when it comes to guys. We began dating when I was 21 and he was 26. I've only ever once dated a guy my own age, and that was a disaster.

Everybody said me that i look a bit younger, maybe 16-17 (i will soon be 20). Ok difference is not too big. But yeah i look kinda younger. Everybody thinks im immature because im always smiling/laughing, i mean im alwAays cheerful and happy person, so they rearly think that im serious in whatever i said/do. I often get angry because of that, i dont know what they want!? They want me to be grumpy and bitter to think im serious!?

Once you're older and everyone thinks you're younger you will like it. And there's nothing wrong with being silly all the time. You've got the rest of your life to be serious. Enjoy your youth.

Yeah, but its kinda annoying when u say, for example, that u want to do something, and they all are like 'Yeah right...' or look at u with that small, kinda sad smile because they are sure u are not able or u dont wanna do it. I dont think that can change even when i get older

I think i look younger than i am. i'm 27 and i still get carded when i go to a bar. (not that i go more than once a year lol) i don't always get told that i look younger though. i act older though. my friends are all different ages but one of my better friends is 20 some years older than me. i probably wouldn't have guessed you were only 28 either. i never really thought about it though and from that tiny picture it's hard to tell.

That tiny picture was taken a few years ago, so it's a bit out of date. Part of growing up quick does have to do with our children. They really add the years on, lol. But as I said, mine is more or less because I was an only child and only hung out with adults. My sister was born when I was 14, and everyone thought she was my daughter. When I brought my oldest son home from the hospital, my mom and sister were there, all the doctors and nurses were asking my sister if she had a new baby brother. My sister was like, um... no, that's my nephew, lol.

People tell me I don't look my age. Maybe they're just being kind. My kids tell me that all the time. I used to work at an optical place in a strip mall (about a year or so ago). My teenage son was a few doors down in Gamestop with a friend. I went in, hugged him and we chatted. My son didn't introduce me, and I forgot to introduce myself. He said after I left, his friend high-fived him and said, "Dude, a college girl!" Then he told his friend "That was my mom." His friend didn't believe him. He told him he thought I was hot, which embarrassed my son, of course. A few days ago I was talking to a pregnant co-worker. She asked me if I was planning to have a baby anytime soon. I told her I already had 3 kids, the oldest is 18. She said first, "Wow! you don't look old enough to have an 18-year-old." Then she told me her aunt had a baby at age 38. I told my co-worker I am older than 38. What a sweetie! She then told me I didn't even look 30. Maybe she was being kind so I'd give her a present for her baby.

Well I was always told that I looked 10 years younger than my age. This did not bother me as I was in my 40's and looked in my 30's. Not sure if I still look that young now as I no longer die my hair but my skin is still smooth and young looking so if I wanted to go back to all that hair dying I might but now I look like a woman who is young looking with Grey hair. lol.

Yeah the hair does tend to tell our true age. My hair is beginning to go gray, although it's not really noticable yet, just a few strands here and there. In a few years I will have to dye it all the time otherwise I'll really look old.

People said i look younger than my age.Maybe because i am a very tiny woman.Usually people would think that me and my daughter are just sisters. She is as tall as me now.Well, i am very amaze by that but my mind is very matured. How i wish i will always be like this.

I dont look my age. Alot of people think im younger. Im already 35 but people mistake me for a 25-year old. When i tell them my age most of the time they dont believe me and think that im joking with them. Maybe because im petite. Im only 5 feet tall. The guys i've dated are usually younger than me but they look older than me. So i dont have problems on hooking up with someone young. They only realize that i am indeed 35 once i start talking. They say that i am really wise and matured.

You are lucky then. I'd rather look younger than older. But as a teenager it works the opposite. As a teen you'd rather look older.

No, I look a lot younger than my age. People usually mistake me for a high school student, even though I'm already 24. Sometimes I even get mistaken for a 12 year old. I don't know if it's the way I dress, or look, or the way I act and talk. I'm OK with it though. I used to be really annoyed about it, but now I just think it's funny.

I would have been annoyed too when I was younger. I did try to grow up real fast during my teen years, and loved the fact that everyone thought I was older. Got me into some real trouble, lol. But now I wish I looked younger.

I'm the opposite. Until I was thirty years old and had my baby, I looked young. Now the lines are showing!

I think I look my age, but apparhently not. Everyone always thinks I am much younger than I am. I am 18, almost 19 and people think I am like 16. Whenever I pay with my credit card, the clerk always checks my ID extra well. It is actually pretty funny. I guess they dont believe that I am old enough to have a card. Also at work old people always ask me why I'm not at school, implying that I dropped out or something, but really I graduated a year ago. And when I tell them that they dont believe me. I hate it and I'm kinda short too, so that just adds to the problem.

I'm 50 years old and men younger than myself have always been attracted to me. I look very young. I don't even have crows feet. I think part of it is the fact that I'm an old hippie and have always had a young attitude toward life. That has always kept my mind and body very young. I don't feel old at all. How old is 50 supposed to feel anyway? I've always had a very young attitude also. When I say young I don't mean immature because I have always been wise beyond my years even as a small child. I'm always telling younger people not to be afraid of aging because you will more than likely remain pretty much in your 20's in your mind. Keep a young attitude about yourself and you will never age. The minute you begin fearing age is when you will start aging. Once your mind believes you are old your body will follow suit and start wearing down before your time. Think young and you will remain young. Here I am a senior citizen! Unbelievable!! I love it! I look in the mirror and don't believe it. My body certainly doesn't feel it. At times my body will betray my age, but, as a rule those times are very few. For one thing, I don't have arthritis and I've always been double jointed. Not bad for a 50 year old. Have a great day everyone and an even better one tomorrow! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Funny how things are sometimes, when I was young people used to think I was older by the way I acted and the mature approach I had to life in general. Now Im 63 and people are amazed at how young I look.
