What Do You Like In A Blog - Reading the content or just looking at the ads.

I, like alot of others, have a blog. Many blogs are just banners for all the money making sites people need sign ups on. I do not have any banners and so far have only written articles about trying to make money. Should I make my blog flashier by adding banners instead of just the links to click? Getting signups are great but I wanted my blog to educate people about different money making ways. What is your opinion? Should I change my blog to just look for referrals?
