My method in learning new things is to read, read, read. I do not understand everything that I read but I get to know the terms and the next time I encounter it I remember some of the meaning. Cheers!!

Yes, I agree, but I'd like to do more than read. I wonder if you know some sites that have sample projects. Anyway, thanks.

I learned a lot of computer stuff for free right over the internet. Here's a few more good places I go to that have free newbie tutorials on it:
Xavier Forum has tutorials, and lets you learn how to create your own php scripts. Plus it's always nice when you're a newbie to have a place to go and ask specific questions about it
http://forum.xaviermedia.com/php-&-cgi-scripts-f3.html?
About.com has some good pages about it
http://php.about.com/od/learnphp/p/learn_php_free.htm
Zend developer zone has php 101 which has been written with newbies in mind
http://devzone.zend.com/node/view/id/627
Good luck! There's a ton to learn out there, just remember there's usually someplace you can learn it for free!

Wow! Thanks for the links. I've been to about.com. It's a good site. I have to check out the Zend developer zone. I wonder if they have some sample PHP projects or if they have lessons in practical PHP. I really appreciate your help. Again, thanks a lot.

The best way to learn php is from their official forums from which you can get more information and support. You can find some information from www.php.net which one is a official website for php.
This is the list of all avialable resources for a php user, officially.

Hope you like it.

www.tizag.com is a very good site for begginers..
The best thing to do is not always to read, read and read. It's better to look at other people's code and look up the functions on php.net if you dont understand what they do. Then try copy the code and run it, maybe make a change here and there. And before you know, you can write php applications.. It might take yƩars or only weeks.. It's up to you, how hard you study!
