What is your internet speed? What measures do you take to increase the speed.

my internet speed is 40Kbs and I use IDM for accelerating the download speed. and use Opera to increase browsing speed and they work in excellent way.

Try mozilla and orbit downloader combination. It will be better than the combination you said.

Well I tried so many combination before and even the one you told but they do me no good, all I can say that this combination I use is the best for me.

My internet speed is 12Mbps.I can use only 1GB of downloads per month,its limited.For me virus free downloads are very important more than the internet speed.I use DAP software to increase my internet speed.We need more speed for bulk downloads like pictures,videos and software etc., if we go for main sites(i.e.,direct links) directly then speed is not a problem.

Wooo.... Did you just said 12mbps...You already have such a high speed then what is the need for internet accelators. Or you were just trying to say 12kbps. There's a lot of difference between them.

Its 12Mbps only.This DAP will filter the virus also.

You guys are great..I love this thread..I always learn something here..my computer has been running really slow for the last weeek..I think it is my provider..I defrag almost every day but still runs slow...zzzzzzzzz

Usually, when I'm downloading, my download speed is around...5,6 mb or so, so I believe I have a 20 MB DSL connection..actually which is very cheap as well! I only need to pay 2500 Forint of it, which would be in Euros, around 10 of them..so in dollars around..12/13 dollars I guess! And I love my internet connection! I don't need any accelerators, and I think those accelerators are overrated! Most of them don't even really work! Download accelerators try to get a faster download speed, by getting multiple downloads of the peer, on the same file, which means you STILL have the same internet connection speed, but just a faster download!..So it has nothing to do with your internet speed or connection mate! I am using 2MB connection My uploading speed is 0.213MBps and Downloading speed is 1.95Mbps I have checked the internet speed using the site http://www.scanmyspeed.com/
