More Violence

Is their more violence?
I live on the countryside in Belgium.
I've knever known much violence accept some little fights but last weekend on 2 days
Their has been 4 incidents with violence in a little town. And with violence i dont mean a little fight...
I mean incidents with knives and broken bottles.
Is it just me or is their getting more violence and what do you think is the 'trigger' to this increase in violence.
I know that in some school in America they have metal detectors.
Give me your opinion! Also plz mention what country you are from :)

Oh yes the world is becoming so much more violent and I personally think TV and movies have a lot to do with it, I am sickened by some of the stories I see on TV they are so graphic and I honestly think it gives people ideas and it almost makes violence trendy...no-one seems to care about life any more they are so full of hate and revenge.
