Here's a dumb question, but I'm going to ask it...

What is Wiccan? I am not planning on getting involved with that but could anyone tell me what that is. My friend said one of the girls that we used to go to school with, was involved in Wiccan. Thanks.

It's not a dumb question. I've been Wiccan for 4 years, so I can tell you all about it. Wiccan is a nature-based religion. Well, it's more about spirituality. Contrary to what some believe, it's not a Satanic religion. Wiccans don't believe in Heaven/Hell/Satan. Also, not all Wiccans are witches, and not all witches are Wiccan. Many young kids get into Wicca because they see it glamorized on television and in the movies. Unless someone does their research thoroughly before getting into Wicca, they're in for a shock. No, we Wiccans don't put spells on people. That is against the Wiccan Rede. No, we don't perform animal sacrifices. Again, that's against the Rede. Here's a website that can explain it better than I ever could without being very long winded: http://www.wicca.com/celtic/wicca/wicca.htm

I'd also like to add another link that explains what Wicca is not. That way, you can get a little more information on it. http://www.mdpagans.com/wiccaisnot.html

if im honest i know very little about wiccans so would not be a great source, the little i do know is that it is a form of pagenism, im sure there are many people here who would be able to tell you more and there are lots of great sorces on the net too i know a lot of people refer to wiccans as white witches but from what i have read and heard there is nothing spooky or witch crafty about it, its all to do with nature and pagenism
