I ain't gonna start any more discussions. I started one 3 weeks ago and have not had any responses. Today, I started one 4 hours ago and no response there, either.
I guess I just can't think of anything witty enough or controversial enough or stupid enough or informative enough for people to rush to my discussion.....so I'll stop and just respond to other members' discussions.

Aw! Now don't give up on us yet! Make sure you are adding lots of friends to your friends list and respond to their discussions. If they are good friends they will respond to yours as well. Also keep in mind that if a lot of people are starting new discussions it is really easy to have yours just get moved down the que so quickly that people just miss it. Keep your chin up and get busy thinking up some great conversation starters!

As I stated below, there are members that only start discussions.
I have many friends on my list that have never responded in my
discussions in 2 years time. That is fine by me as I answer some
of theirs. Either way, if we start only, if we respond only,
or if we do both, we still earn here.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'm not going to give up, Loved1. I have been slowly adding friends as time goes on. One thing I need to try to figure out is how to add some stuff in my profile.

bluerubymoon53 I am going to get on the ball, and surprise
you by answering your discussions so you will have some
responses. I was new once too and had the same problems.
It makes it hard to be a newbie and not have anyone respond
to your discussions, just keep at it and get your name
noticed and the replies will come, I promise you.

Well, Hatley, I think Dawnald beat you to the discussions.
I see that you do pretty well with your discussions.
I need to get on the ball myself and respond more often to my friends' discussions. Like Oreo said, she doesn't respond to all since some may not be of interest to her and others she does not relate to. I can see that.
I just need to look at unresponsiveness in that light then.

Wouldn't be too hard to find, Dawnald. I don't have very many discussions anyway.

Thanks Dawnald. I'll go take a look in a little bit.
Like I was telling Oreo (I think it was Oreo), I'll have to be more observant on what type of discussions do well and then start yet another one of "favorite flavor of ice cream".

Hmmmm, I didn't find any of yours that didn't have at least one response. But, don't feel so bad, blue, most of my discussions are kind of dumb, and for the most part, don't get too many responses, either. I just keep responding to other discussions, until I come up with another brilliant dumb idea.*LOL*

Woohoo!! First response I've had in 3 weeks. It just might be a curse. Dunno. I have seen some of the silliest topics here and they get loads of responses.
I don't like to start anything that would be controversial because I'm afraid that I wouldn't have much of anything to back up what I'm talking about.

Yep.
One mylotter had suggested using catchy titles for the topic you want to write about. I have a hard time doing that. I'm not that "creative".

Collect more friends to spread your discussions more into the myLot community.
I have been here over 2 years and have well over 400 friends.
Yet at times I get the same thing with very few responses to my discussions.
There are a lot of members here who only respond as well.
Then there are also those that only start ones and not respond.
Each member does their myLotting how they feel comfortable.
So I say do what you feel good doing here.
It's a site to have fun afterall.
I am sending a friends request your way as well.
Hope that you accept.
Have a great day/evening.

Hi Grandpa Bob.
I have been slowly adding friends but I don't think I could really handle the volume that I would have in email from 400! I might shoot for 100 though.
I have been having fun with this discussion. There have been some good suggestions here. One new person has even gotten some good out of it, too.
I have accepted your invite, too.

I hear ya, I've had those times as well, and also if I have started a discussion, I don't get a lot of responses. I spend more time reading other peoples discussions sometimes.

I'm sure that everyone have discussions that don't get many or even any responses.
Sometimes I'll read other people's discussions. Most of the time I'll read just the first page of it, but if it is a very interesting topic, I'll read through all of the pages and some of them may have quite a few.

Good. It's always good to slow down and think back on your mistakes. You can browse around look at other discussions which have got a lot number of responses and see if you could modify your discussion titles and attract more people to respond to your discussions.

You have a good idea there, Bourne. Another discussion could have a point in it or one of the responses that could be expanded on, too. I see what you mean.

hmmmm....I have an idea for you. Do you remember any of your dreams? If you do, jot it down on paper and start a discussion about that. It could turn into a short story with your dream being something to build it on.

Its pretty normal that some discussion has no responses but still keep on trying. I have some discussion with few response but still it didnt stop me from posting new topic. Then eventually people starts sharing there views on some of the topic i posted. Just look for interesting topic that will make members participate on your discussion.

I know what you mean, Belk. There are topics that some people may be interested in and some not. Or some that a lot will be interested and then some that no one will be interested in.

Apparently one day Sir Winston Churchill was invited to give a graduation speech or something like that, and his speech was just a few words. They have inspired me and I hope they'll do the same for you. He said and this was all he said: "Never, never quit!" I like it. I live by it!

I can completely understand that silly questions that get alot of responses. Some discussions I start they are good ones only like 2 or 3 will respond or none at all. Here you go, you've got another response.

It is fun, though, to see some silly stuff. Sometimes they make me laugh or think "Huh?". Sometimes it is hard for me to even find something to respond to, also. Thanks for stopping by.

what is the difference in money we make when we start a new discussion or respond to others? I am new to mylot, your suggestions would be very much helpful.
