Do you like chili? Do you prefer it with or without beans? We had chili for dinner tonight. Not a huge favorite in my house, so we only have it on rare occasions. I really love it though, so anytime I'm in the mood, I just make the rest of the family suffer, lol. I like mine with beans... it's my mom's recipe, so I grew up eating this same chili. What do you do with your chili? Mine is a very simple recipe. Ground beef, a can of chili flavored diced tomatoes, and a can of chili flavored beans. I cook it in the crockpot all day and it's perfect... not too spicy, just enough flavor! I serve it with some cornbread.

I make my own seasoning. 2 tbsp. chili powder 1 tbsp. seasoned salt 2 tsp. cumin 1 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. onion powder 1/2 tsp. garlic powder Mix all ingredients. Store in small airtight container in cool dry place. Use 1 tablespoon for 3/4 pound ground beef in chili, taco's or spaghetti sauce. I like mine with beans. I use ground beef, onion, seasoning mix, and a little water in a pan to brown it. Then I add diced tomatoes and kidney beans and let it simmer till dinner time. I sometimes serve cornbread and I put some chopped onion, sour cream, and cheddar cheese on top.

your recipe sounds very good. I have no set recipe. I just go by how it tastes and add things to make it taste the way that I like it!

I make my own spaghetti sauce... but this chili recipe is perfect for me, and I don't want to mess with a good thing, lol.

My husband and I love chili. We always make a very large pot and freeze containers for whenever we're in the mood for it. We each have a hand in adding the ingredients. The last pot we made and put two of everything in it and for some reason, it was really good. Two pounds of ground meat, two onions, two cans of this and two cans of that and so on. Just kept adding stuff until it tasted good. Worked for us!!!

I agree... it just doesn't seem like chili without the beans.

Well I have never really liked chilli, I think it is a horrible thing, and I think that it is a meal that is either liked or hated. I could not eat it anyway on account it would upset my tum. But I know for a fact that the kids would not like it so if it was that hubby and I liked it then I would do it just for us and do the kids something else. I never give them a meal that they do not like.

My kids have to eat what I give them... not all, but a good size portion. If they're still hungry they can do a peanut butter sandwich or something later. But I don't want my kids to be fussy, picky eaters, so I make them eat everything. There are very few foods my kids don't like.

I prefer it without beans, especially on hot dogs.. The only way that I will eat it with beans, is when I am very hungry..

I like my leftover chili with beans poured over a hot dog and then smothered in cheese and onions. YUM! I almost always have chili leftover to do this with.

We love chili here. And we love it with beans. I use kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and ground chuck. I brown the ground chuck, put the tomatoes and beans in a pot and add the cooked chuck with some water (we don't like ours really thick). I add my own spices including chili powder. I add and taste until it has the flavor we like. I have cooked mine on top of the stove and in the crockpot, too. I suppose it is getting cool enough now to think about cooking a pot.

Oops!I forgot to say I also cut up a big onion and put in there, too. That adds a good flavor.

We often have chili - it's not too expensive, and it's so easy to make. We both like it, so that's a fortunate thing. We make it the same way you do, except we also add some frozen corn niblets to the crockpot. We like to have it with a bit of cheese grated over the top if we have cheese in the house.

Now that is a new one, I never thought of eating it with cornbread, will try that. When we have chili, which I love, but hubby doesn't eat it. I don't like beans in mine, I use the leftovers for putting on hot dogs, or on top of speghetti. I don't like it too spicy, ex used to put it on top of scrambled eggs while I thought that a bit rare, it really was good.

When my daughter was a baby, I made chili every week. Not anymore. I still haven't figured out a way to make it low salt. Or, I would! I love the stuff. But, what he eats, I eat, so chili is out.

I love chili. Prefer it with beans, meat and a nice and mild heat to it. Though sometimes I crave a real tongue burner. I like it served over rice with a hearty sprinkling of cheddar or monterey jack cheese. Sometimes a nice dallop of sour cream. For the meat, I like to use a mixture of meats. I'll get the ground beef, pork and veal mix from the grocery store along with a bit of lamb and a steak cut into chunks. The different meat flavors and textures make it really nice.

I love chilli especially with a grilled cheese sandwich. I make mine with ground turkey that is seasoned well with blackened seasoning. I add in chilli powder, jalapeno peppers, corn, tomatoes cut up, onions, and beans. I also sometimes throw in some other secret spices to give it some zest. all you need is a good movie, pajamas, and some cold beverage.

I love chili! The only way to eat it is with beans. I cook mine in the crockpot all day as well. It's really easy & it's nice because by the time it comes to make dinner, it's already made. My recipe is: 1 lb. of ground beef (cooked & drained), 1 can of red kidney beans, onion & garlic chopped, 1-8 oz. can of tomato sauce (then fill it up with water once & pour that in), salt & pepper, and chili seasoning.

We had chili for dinner last night too. There are so many variations to chili. I'm not sure I ever fix it the same way twice! LOL Last night I had 3 bean chili (so obviously I like the beans) It had chili beans, light kidney beans and black beans in it. Very Tasty and especially now that the weather is cooling down!

We like chili. the recipe i have for it is really mild. my husband and i both don't like spicy stuff so it is perfect for us. i don't put beans in ours. i'm pretty sure my husband doesn't like beans and i don't. so mine is ground beef, onions, celery, chili diced tomatoes, and some chili powder. i don't usually make cornbread because i'm the only one who likes it.

when i did eat meat i was never a real big fan of chili. if it was the only thing to eat i would eat it and i did not mind if it had beans because i do like beans. i am not a real big fan of spicy food either and i usually wind up with heartburn so chili would not have been one of my favorites while still eating meat.

I love chilli as well. Beans plus ground meat and cheese are the best toppings on fries or a hot dog bun. I'll even eat it alone! Too bad no one else likes it at home though. :( I've tried to get my family to like it so we can go to a chilli place, but that was a big failure. :( No one likes beans but myself.

My whole family loves chili! It is not really chili to us w/o beans. I sautee onions, peppers and garlic, ground beef or turkey and browned keilbasa sausage cut into small bites. I don't make the seasonings myself, its a chili kit in a brown bag - I don't think I could do it any better than they do! Sometimes I put a little honey in it to cut the tomato taste. For us, the spicier the batter! I make a huge crock pot full of it for bbq's and generally there is only a tiny bit left.

I like the chili very much.I'm a chinese and I like the chili fish head very much. It's very perfect. In china, the SiChuan style dishes and Hunan cuisine are also very piquancy. Every dishes all have many chili. The vegetable soups are also very red. That's chili oil. I think if the dish no chili is insipid.
