Taking it deeply from its roots, Christmas is actually a religious celebration. But, nowadays it is disregarded. It tears down the barricades that separate religions. Today, no matter what belief you have, you celebrate Christmas. Or, do all?
To free myself from these nonsense thoughts, I look over the other side of the planet to satisfy my lost soul. And to find my desired answers, I used the weakness of mankind[BWAHAHAHA!]-technology. My medium, CHAT.
First drop: Catholic Chatroom (I disguised to be a lost soul armored with pagan beliefs.)
Excerpts of my conversation with chatters.
killerstiletto_43: why do u celebrate xmas at dec. 25?is it stated in d bible? It ws not later than 5th century dat Roman catholics commanded dat it shld be honored at dat day.
elmo: what faith are you?
killerstiletto_43: im a christian
elmo: Killer, you sound pagan to me
leomeshi: u don't sound like one
elmo: Killer, quit lying about your faith, ur probably a JW if you refuse to celebrate a holiday
killerstiletto_43: n in da scriptures...it is never stated that we must celebrate xmas...
lucyfurlives: jews clculate tht his birth & resurrection hppened at about the same time...march 29
lucyfurlives: that is a long ways off from December 25
greengrowbook: Jews changed the Bible about 70AD.
elmo: Killer, it never says to celebrate his death either, but we do that too
killerstiletto_43: u do. and why is that??
elmo: Killer, you are of christian faith, but denounce all holidays, what do you celebrate?
killerstiletto_43: bcoz it is not stated in the bible…
leomeshi: let's see...we dedicate a full day in honor of the lord's birth and abstain from work.... u think thats evil?
lucyfurlives: it was Constatine who made december 25 the birthdate of Jesus the Christ
bowieknifefighter: lucy; OR conception-calculate 9 months from then--EITHER 12/25 or 1/6
killerstiletto_43: no...not evil...but wrong
elmo: Killer, but no christian holiday is stated in teh bible,, christianity isn't stated in the bible but you take on that faith
leomeshi: wrong??? u think it offends God
texancy: NO Constantine did not do that, but the Bishops at the time decided to celebrate HIS birth on THIS DATE.
killerstiletto_43: he was born wen shepherds had their sheeps on the field...
killerstiletto_43: sheeps doesn’t eat snow, dec. is a winter...
infj_bookworm: no one knows when Jesus was born. Dec. 25 was NOT chosen because they thought it was the correct day. It was chosen 2 supplant a pagan holiday, and IT WORKED!!!!!
killerstiletto_43: u know it is not d birth of Christ but still insist that it is. U adapt it from d bday of pagans’ sun god and ur leaders still make u celebr8 it.
recovering_witness: do we accept things of God, or things of this world? accepting paganism is accepting things of this world and denying that which is God's
Damage Control: paganism accepts things of the worlds as a part of the ultimate divine, more abstract thinking
xqt34534: loveless people say even christmas is pagan ...that is strictness for strictness
killerstiletto_43: u believed in something u dont know of
sanjogeorge: CHURCH DECIDES 25TH DEC IS TO BE CLEBRTED AS CHRISTMAS IT IS
I became sick and tired of the flooding rooms, so I surveyed some chatters with different faiths. Here are excerpts of my conversation with them.

akotlah: yes if some one want to celebrate, its his own wish

d1amond_r4d14nce_666: no im a psycadelic
killerstiletto_43: waat is dat??????
d1amond_r4d14nce_666: well i believe the universe is a mere illusion of improper perception…like u know a cloud is a form caused by other conditions but a cloud changes form and it isnt the sky in which its contained in
d1amond_r4d14nce_666: atomic matter and the universe is a form of causes
d1amond_r4d14nce_666: that arise and take appearance but yet at a sub atomic level is 99.9% nothingness, blah..blahhh….blahhhh…..blahhhh…..
[can anyone give me an aspirin?! I think I’m about to faint.]
So that’s it, my survey shows confusion. Nothing’s settled. Let’s just put it this way: every one of us has his faith and beliefs. Some, although against their beliefs, choose to do something for various reasons such as to adapt their selves to the majority. There are those who stand by their beliefs, and there are some who have become accustomed to tradition.
Although it seems that there is nothing wrong about it, still we must take it into consideration that this Christmas is supposed to be the birth of our savior. The merriment is actually nothing. The celebration only comes next to the uppermost essence of Christmas who is no one else but Christ. What good is it without Him, anyway?
"i made this article for our school newspaper and luckily it was published. and... well i had received some comments and criticisms with this. i hope u can give one too. thanks! peace"
